Ok. Make a Copeland playlist with the following rules: 2 songs per record and 1 b-side/cover/side project song. No songs from “Blushing” yet. 1. Take Care 2. California 3. Choose the One Who Loves You More 4. You Have My Attention 5. Love Affair 6. When You Thought You’d Never Stand Out 7. Good Morning Fire Eater 8. On The Safest Ledge 9. I Can Make You Feel Young Again 10. Erase 11. I Can Hear Your Laughter In The Wind
1. Coffee 2. California 3. Love is a Fast Song 4. Choose the One Who Loves You More 5. The Last Time He Saw Dorie 6. I'm a Sucker for a Kind Word 7. Should You Return 8. The Day I Lost My Voice (The Suitcase Song) 9. Erase 10. Ordinary 11. The Rope To Pull Yourself Together bonus round: Every Breath you Take and Thanks To You (DJ Cakeface remix) ...this was fun and makes me reflect on how this band has barely a song below the 3/5 cutoff

The choices got really difficult for me once I hit ESR. Had to leave off some incredible songs. The “singles” are some of my least favorite songs (Pin Your Wings, Control Freak). I feel like they abandoned the idea of reaching radio-play status with YAMS and it’s no wonder that most fans today praise their two newest records the most.
1. When Paula Sparks 2. California 3. No One Really Wins 4. You Have My Attention 5. Eat, Sleep, Repeat 6. Control Freak 7. The Grey Man 8. Chin Up 9. Chiromancer 10. In Her Arms You Will Never Starve 11. Winding Ivy
1. When Paula Sparks 2. California 3. No One Really Wins 4. You Have My Attention 5. Love Affair 6. I'm A Sucker For A Kind Word 7. Chin Up 8. Not So Tough Found Out 9. Erase 10. In Her Arms You Will Never Starve 11. Thanks To You* *assuming Night Figures counts as a Blushing song
1. Take Care 2. You Have my Attention 3. Sleep 4. Chin Up 5. Chiromancer 6. Control Freak 7. Love Affair 8. On The Safest Ledge 9. Erase 10. California 11. Every Silence (maybe my favorite Copeland song) Im not sure I'm happy with this haha, so many great songs left off

Everyone going feels the same way at this point. Sucks because it was warm yesterday, it’ll be warm again Monday. Just a shit day for an outside show :/ I’m excited because for once I can’t guess what the set list will look like. Miserable as it is, the cold weather is fitting.
Going through their discography in preparation for the new album and I still barely like BMT at all. It might be because I first heard it in 2015 but there’s only like 2 songs I’d ever want to hear again.
As someone that was pretty late to Copeland in general, I agree. I really like everything that came after and I like a few tracks but it doesn’t do much for me.
I started listening to Copeland in late 2003, when my older sister’s boyfriend gave me a burned copy of BMT. I was a Freshman in high school, so it was easy to connect to a lot of the sappiness. As someone in their late 20s now, it’s hard to connect to much of the lyrics. It’s definitely an EMO record, even though bands at that time did not want to be associated with that term. The emotions expressed in BMT are very blatant. Aaron’s more cryptic lyrics in recent records are more up my alley now.
Yea I'm not too big on BMT. I love some of the live recordings of those songs though. Those Instant Live compilations that they did for one of their tours are awesome. I absolutely adore When Finally Set Free but do not get When Paula Spark or Coffee
1. Testing the Strong Ones 2. When FInally Set Free 3. Dont Slow Down 4. You Have my Attention 5. Im a Sucker for a kind word 6. When you thought youd never stand out 7. The Grey Man 8. Chin Up 9. Erase 10. In Her Arms You will never starve 11. Like I Want You That was tough. definitely had to leave off some favorites. started listening to these guys back in '03. BMT doesnt resonate so much with me anymore, but I still hold a soft spot for most of that album. only seen them once, in Austin during the Ixora tour. but ive got tickets to see them here in Denver next month.
I find the indifference towards Beneath Medicine Tree in here really strange Far, far more consistent and memorable than In Motion - The first six songs are just a wonderful streak
