I can't really pick favorites. When Reptilian comes on though, I get real tense. It's an amazing closer.
I think the lyrics are hacky and too obvious while the song is aimless arrow pt2 It’s not terrible but eh
I don't like lyrics that are so on the nose and some of the phrases are so cringey. that said it's still a great song just... yano.
I mean, I love my dog (Boston Terrier) but the feeling doesn’t really compare to my kids. I think this passage from the article @cwhit posted a few days ago sums up my feelings on the song pretty well: "'A Single Tear' is a song about love . . . the all-consuming protective love that you feel while becoming a parent. "Being a Converge song, that feeling is all shot through with dread and anxiety and rage. And let me tell you motherfuckers: Those are things that you absolutely will feel if you have kids in 2017. You will feel the guilt of leaving them a world that seems ready to fall apart at the slightest provocation, of sending them to schools where they practice lockdown drills in case someone shows up with a gun, hoping to kill as many children as possible. "'A Single Tear' isn’t even about those things . . . [t]he song is about trying to become worthy — about interrogating yourself, finding yourself lacking, and forcing yourself to become the person that your kids need."
ok then let's just chalk it up to me not being able to relate to the song but hey, if you guys enjoy it and you find some meaning in those lyrics I'm real happy for you and please don't let me sour you on it :) your kids better grow up to be into Converge doe.
We listened to this record this morning! They were doing a little head banging, and they’re only 18 months!
I don’t feel particularly qualified to say much about this one since I still haven’t spent much time with the rest of their discography, but first impressions are very positive. In fact, this might have been the most enjoyable first listen to a Converge album that I’ve had.
honestly, if this is the first time you're really listening to a Converge album that's the best thing that can happen to you, because objectively this might be their best.
I’ve listened to everything since (and including) Jane Doe but not more than a handful of times each - this is my first time listening to a new Converge album as someone who’s actually checked them out before
Converge Left the Best Songs off of 'The Dusk in Us,' and Four Other Facts About Their New Album Theres four songs that didn't make the cut.
