I dig Bloodmoon a lot. It's a bit of grower for me, but it's a perfect amalgamation of Converge and Chelsea's sounds. I still think I prefer regular old Converge though...but time will tell.

the worst thing about that review is suggesting that trying on new collaborators is a strategy only employed by bands past their prime? inexplicable

 

maybe he's still just mad about Lulu (which doesn't actually suck anyway imo)

 

the velvet underground were notably washed by the time they teamed up with nico. just a gimmick.

 

This is the Chelsea Wolfe album I've always wanted.

 

“Failure Forever” a nice homage to Deftones’ “Battle-Axe”

 

This is really cool!! Didn’t check out the singles in advance so this is really surprising in a good way.

 

this album is awesome

 

I love how it feels like a spiritual successor to Hiss Spun somehow. Hearing Chelsea in this soundscape is always awesome.

 

I love this album so much. The most pleasant surprise was how much of it sounds like Cave In. Chelsea obviously got way more of the press, but it's wonderful how much you can hear Stephen Brodsky all over it. It's really a collaboration in the best sense.

Tongues Playing Dead is very much my shit.

 

I love this album. Especially all the vocals working together so well. How jacob hasn't wrecked his voice doing this for three decades is crazy.

 

he said in an interview with jeremy bolm that he ruins his voice about every six months haha

 

this album is sick and the pitchfork review is fucking hilarious. their metal coverage used to be good when brandon stusoy was an editor/contributor but since then its gone to such shit i wish theyd just leave the genre alone

 

I'm not that hot on the brodsky contributions but otherwise I like this album

 

Finally checking this out.

 

Yeah this slaps. Lord of Liars and Failure Forever are real nice together

 

Scorpion’s Sting is another highlight

 

I can't count how many times I've returned to this already. Easily one of my favorite albums of the year.
