Consider the Thief is an experimental rock band from Sacramento, California that formed in 2007 and broke up in 2009. However, as of August, 2012, they have announced a reunion and a future record.

These guys were fantastic for the brief amount of time they were around... perhaps best known for their guitarist Sean O'Sullivan being part of the original lineup of Dance Gavin Dance. They released a fairly generic post-hardcore EP called Soldiers and Saints in 2008 before making a massive leap with their full-length Signs and Wonders the following year. That album was as much of an experimental rock album as it was post-hardcore, and is one of the few albums from that "scene" that genuinely gives me Thrice vibes. Such a phenomenal band, gone far too soon (I have it on good authority that their 2012 reunion was short-lived), but Dryw Owens their frontman has been a producer for many other acts.

If you wanna see what bands Dryw has produced, he's best known for producing for From Indian Lakes and Sianvar, but has done some other stuff has well:

  4. I remember hearing about a potential new album like it was yesterday...

Yeah I would love that, but from what I've heard Dryw is just focusing on his production work and I think Sean has an actual non-music career now.

Definitely a good comparison. I wish these guys had made at least one more album, but at least Dryw is still producing great albums.
