I thought Upside Down Mountain was brilliant! Really looking forward to listening to this. First thoughts anyone?

  6. This is the shortest Oberst album (besides Desaparecidos), right? I tend to find his albums, besides I'm Wide Awake, to be at least ten minutes too long, but it really doesn't feel like there's any wasted space here.

Crazy this is streaming already, no single and two weeks before release. I'll give this a good listen later, pleased to see the positive reactions so far.

Yeah, this is gonna push Norma Jean out of my top 3 for the year. Unless SIMS disappoints in a major way, my top 3 should be 1. ETID, 2. This, 3. SIMS

This is amazing. Every song he could perform as is live by himself and the songs still seperate themselves

Never got around to UDM cuz I thought he was on a pretty weak streak going into it but this is great

Enjoying this quite a bit more than his last couple solo releases.

Hate I'm not going to be able to see his show in Nashville in November. Somehow I've still never seen Conor Oberst live in any capacity.

I thought this was pretty good, the most recent Oberst album I'd heard was the new Desa, but it's this that really shows how much he's improved as a vocalist, wow. His voice is steady, no trace of a warble anywhere. WILD

I do too, but the lack of it is definitely a sign of growth in his singing ability

not in comparison to like, Fevers and Mirrors or something, where it was seemingly uncontrollable and every line was basically afflicted with it. It's really not the same if you listen to early Bright Eyes vs this. His vocal ability is way improved, he's a lot more measured and controlled
