It's so great! I think I listened to it pretty much daily for months after it came out haha. A lot of beautiful lyricism.
I didn't like it at first but it has some of his best songs i think. artifact #1 is gorgeous the way that guitar swells at the end.
No idea. I just saw a Saddle Creek post about how there was some "manufacturing error" with the vinyl so it was bumped to October 20th instead of September 16th.
Yup got the same email. Sucks about the box set delay. There are pics/videos of all the records though, so it must be the physical production that is causing the delay.
I almost bought the box set. But I already own the previous box set, and every album after it on vinyl haha.
His last solo album felt like the end of a line for me. This cover art looks like he's going in almost a Tom Waits direction.
Normally I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a box set. However, for some reason I didn't own any Bright Eyes records so this was a perfect time. Plus, I got for $109 shipped, which is a whole hell of a lot better than $150 + shipping.
yeah, and so are countless other albums (Yellowcard, The Used, Unwriten Law, TBS, SOTY, I could go on) that are acoustic but not extremely stripped back and sparse. What I've read makes me guess it'll be super minimal too
He just doesn't have a record that is primarily acoustically driven. So yes, I would agree that it will be his most stripped down.
