This flick was awesome. Love to see a movie about religion while not even mentioning god.

 

Finally watched this, and loved it. Maybe could’ve been on my EOTY list had I seen it in theaters? Idk, who knows, whatever, but regardless. Very glad to have watched it. Loved how it approached religion, ambition, faith, uncertainty, love, etc., while looking quite nice.

Also, revisiting the episode of the Queer Quadrant podcast on this with guest Emily St. James, which was one of the factors that made me decide, “oh I wanna watch that.” (Of course it took the Pope croaking after Easter to finally push me over.) Super good pod episode on religion/spirituality, queerness, and also the movies I guess. Loved hearing Emily’s perspective on faith.
