Hey everybody. I was thinking about some older but beloved concept albums that I’ve never forgotten because they’ve told stories.

Albums like “Trainwreck” by Boys Night Out or “Between the Heart & the Synapse” by The Receiving End of Sirens.

What are your favorite concept albums? I’m hoping I can rediscover some old forgotten ones or some new ones I’ve never heard of.

The Creeper discography is all loosely based around the same horror universe they have made up where a creature called The Stranger shows up around southern England and people vanish on the three EP's that start the lore, including the wife of a private investigator who goes in search of her on their debut album.

In the build up to the album they even made an entire website based around it that acted as a murder mystery/whodunit, including linking it to some super natural themed long-ass podcasts discussing The Stranger, and all the members pretended to "vanish" too.

    Otherwise I would say:

Armor For Sleep - What To Do When You Are Dead
Protagonist commits suicide, then it follows him as a ghost watching what happens after he dies.

    Senses Fail - Still Searching
semi biographical, the album is apparently about the year Buddy spent losing his mind, and ends with a three song stretch where he imagines himself going to the top of an apartment complex, throwing himself off and hitting the ground, and his final moments lying on the ground.

All the Defeater albums are based in the same universe too, and the story and end to their second album really has to be heard to be believed. Each album follows a different member of a family and what happens to them and it's incredible.

SamLevi11, the two you named are two of my favorites. I’ll have to check out those Defeater records.

Creeper are great too. I didn’t know the story behind it all though so thank you.

    I'm gonna throw out these:

    Forgive Durden - Razia's Shadow
    Ludo - Broken Bride

A bit more obvious concept albums but they are pretty good for what they are.
