Anybody else have Barnes & Noble growing up that had listening stations in their CD sections? Mine had it so you could scan a CD they had there and listen, or search on the little screen they had for artists you wanted to check out
I don't remember Barnes and Noble having a listening station, but Borders definitely did, and Fred Meyer. Actually, one time I was at Fred Meyer in Pocatello, Idaho waiting for my girlfriend at the time and her mom to pay for groceries or something, and I happened to scan this random CD, and the clip of this song played, and I was immediately hooked, so I bought the CD and listened to it on repeat the whole 3 hour drive home.
Yeah the mega CD store I went to had a listening section like that. The small ones would let you listen at the counter.
i wanna replace my two plastic cd racks that are coming apart but shelves can be so expensive, and it doesn't help that i'm looking for some pretty specific dimensions, my room is already practically overflowing with shelves. the ones i have now are fine for jewel cases but since there's a gap on the bottom anything narrower tends to fall through. yeah i remember that, cool stuff
Virgin Megastore had these. FNAC in my country and Saturn in Germany as well. I don't remember what it was like at the former because the nearest store closed a long time ago, but at FNAC, listening stations only had three or four available CDs from the newest big releases. My last memory of using one is when I bought Hollow Crown by Architects at a Saturn in 2009. I remember spending a long time in the store because the stations included a search function so I had fun looking up my favorite bands lol
Yeah I def used them at Sam Goody and bought Chasing Victory “I Call This Abandonment” because of that
Saturn you could scan the barcode of any CD and listen, at least for a while that was the case. Not sure how that worked in the backend.
Some solid finds at Half Price today. Pretty sure I pirated all of these when they first came out so it's nice to finally own some physical copies lol
As far as solo moz goes, this is as good as it gets. Store had me in a choke hold with a bunch of other stuff but decided to just go cheap today.
Oldie but a goodie! I’m seeing them this coming weekend for their farewell tour , excited to see them \m/
picked up a sealed copy of "Permission To Land" random flea market store! really taking me back peeling the label off
Had some nice finds at the local Salvation Army, Book Off in NY, and Records - The Good Kind in CT. I'm most excited about finding Sheena Easton's You Could Have Been with Me. That shit's been a bear to find.
Yes I will take a rare promo copy of a moz album and a New Hampshire local metalcore band, Hendersonville, TN book and music store. Thank you. the moz is also gatefold and made to look like a record which I appreciate as a vinyl collector as well
