It is crazy that I have watched that episode SO many times, that I could tell each little tweak of the script that didn’t make it to air.
That made me so happy. Seeing Pedro absolutely lose it during the sperm lines was hilarious lol Also, Alison is such a good actor. She nailed it the entire way through, never stumbling. Always a delight being reminded of how different she is from her character
Also, I can't believe Gillian actually has the sperm vial prop lmao I was crying laughing. I knew he wasn't in the episode, but I am still a bit disappointed not having Rash reprise his role as the dean. They should have just made him do a quick bit from a separate episode at the end lol. Loved having Donald back. Loved seeing Troy and Abed's virtual handshake. Loved Dan's Purina cat food ad lol. Definitely going to rewatch the actual episode now and I'm sure I'll revisit this video again soon
I think the only distracting thing in this was that Danny was so happy to be with everyone again that he couldn't help but grin occasionally, a little off-character for Abed I don't mean that in any sort of complaining way at all, I loved it
That was everything I was hoping it would be, so fucking delightful the whole time. I legit almost teared up when Troy and Abed did the handshake lol. So amazing to see Donald acting like Troy again... couldn't help but notice that he brought up the movie himself without any prompting at one point...
Gillian saying she always assumes people dislike her made me so sad :( like, I get the feeling, but I absolutely adore her and she's the best
I just said it in this thread recently but she seems like one of the legitimately nicest celebrities in the business, like something about her just seems so genuine
she's so good and her physical comedy is really underrated, I think she's the funniest member of the cast with Donald
They’re all so naturally funny and have such great chemistry. You know, even if it wasn’t a Community movie, I’d love for them to find another project to work on together.
they're all incredibly funny people, but in very different ways, and the balance between those types is really the lifeblood of the show. Donald and Gillian were the best at physical comedy and line deliveries (and Donald, obviously, is just inhumanly good at improv and hitting a beat and basically everything else) Alison and Danny were probably the best ""actors"" in a dramatic sense, they inhabited their characters completely and both of them can drop a serious moment into the middle of a comedic scene like almost no-one else I've seen (and goddamn Community's writers were so good at this, it was never mawkish or overly sentimental like when most sitcoms get serious) Joel and Yvette probably had the least range, but were perfect for their characters, and both of them have phenomenal chemistry with everyone else on the show (seriously watch the way Joel can just effortlessly play off a scene with anybody else - it's insane) Jim Rash and Ken Jeong seem like two of the nicest dudes in the business and they just committed so hard to these utterly ridiculous, barely human characters that it's impossible not to love them and Chevy Chase was, uh, Chevy Chase. I could go on and on but yeah just the casting for this show in both writing and acting was so unbelievably impeccable
