Hmm, I don't recall seeing this episode. :( On that note, I was also thinking, as much as I love the show, I can't choose preference over seasons really like you all, because I watched most of them on syndicate (is that how you say it?) rather than catch them when they first aired. And so I don't really know all of the episodes that go with each season... only one I saw "live" was the last one, s6 I guess, which did end up being good, but I still missed Donald and Chevy. Oh, and final thought, one really iconic moment/episode for me was when Ahbed and Troy swap bodies. I mean, the chemistry between those too characters was greatly missed when Donald left, plus he did a super impressive Ahbed. Ok, commentary done. ;)
The episode they'll be reading was from S5 E4, the episode right before Troy's final goodbye episode I'm not a big fan of that body switching episode, but it is probably one of the best in season 4 anyways. It helps that Jim Rash wrote it ;)
Does anyone else unironically wish Natalie Is Freezing was a real band? Pillar of Garbage is fucking beautiful instrumentally. Also I happened to stumble upon this little nugget:
Almost done with season 4 in my series rewatch. One thing I do like about it is that it opens the world up a little bit. Like they go places that aren't the study room lol
Entire cast is doing live ep of the podcast and it’s great Donald just found out they have a group chat without him because they all assumed he was too busy lol
This is one of my all-time favorite series. I watched all 6 seasons. I always loved the banter between Troy and Abed.
Oh man, that was so so good. Also, was anyone else... relieved that Donald seemed so normal? Not that he’s not normal or anything. And I didn’t think fame had gone to his head or anything either. I just... I dunno how to describe it. All I know is seeing him be so animated and having fun with all the guys and talking so lovingly about the show almost makes me well up just thinking about it. I know I’m rambling now, I’m just so happy after watching that!
I can't fucking wait to watch that later tonight This is probably the best time to be a Community fan ever since the show ended
Loved that video. I've been doing a lot of catching up w the podcast. Saw the ones with Alison, Yvette and Jim and I couldn't stop laughing throughout. Love Alison admitting that she's high as shit from a gummy halfway through on 4/20 lmao.
I was always nervous he would dismiss the show, or see it as “just something he did” before his career really started. I’m glad he seems to see it like the rest of the cast members, as something special and unique.
Damn, they all leave after like 20 minutes and it's just Jim for a while (not that there's anything wrong with that lol) but that was just pure joy, I was so happy that whole time. Seeing Donald be reminiscent of his old self was the fucking best, and I'm glad we got some insight into the characters he apparently did on set that nobody else wanted to repeat on the podcast lmao. There's now no doubt in my mind that he would 100% be in the movie Can't wait for the full thing on the 18th
I think what makes it so good is that Donald's image is so carefully, meticulously presented - in every project he does - that we never really see his unfiltered self, just joking around and having fun. great video, I'm misty
There was obviously the period after Donald left Community when he focused only on music and in interviews he either seemed legitimately very depressed or was just trying to put on a more serious persona. But I think since Atlanta came out he’s appeared much more mellow. His SNL ep is one of the better ones in recent years
