The chloroform scene is probably one of my favorites. Troy is so fucking funny panicking. And again when she angrily starts putting more on a rag and Troy just yells "WILL YOU STOP!?"
Maybe we all need some space to pull the knife out of the back of the most celebrated Canadian alt-rock band of the mid 90s, you selfish, jaded, ass!
It’s also funny/weird to watch Mixology now and see Tig Notaro as the bartender and Paul F Tompkins as the guy who hits on Abed. I definitely didn’t know who either of them were back then.
Definitely not a fan of that episode, however the one bit that does always make me laugh is when they’re recalling how they so slickly pulled off the grift and there’s that overly loud sound effect of the briefcase hitting the cabinet or whatever.
Every piece of his meta humor is cringeworthy and the primary reason I stopped watching it when it was airing years ago. I’m glad I’m finishing it now but his character and oddities is why I’ll probably never watch it again.
Can't imagine not liking Abed, I feel like his character is often the catalyst for some of the most emotional depths of the show. He's definitely not the funniest character to me, but he is kinda the main character imo and the show does not work at all without him.
That makes sense because I probably dislike or roll my eyes at half the show. But the other stuff is great enough that it made me want to finally finish it.
Elroy's non-sequitur about the green 3 ball in "Recycled Cinema" was fucking hilarious. It's moments like that that make me love this show.
Good finale albeit still heavy-handed in meta stuff. Glad I finally watched it all after abandoning it years ago. The dean is the best/funniest character. I missed Troy and Shirley a lot after they left. Kind of missed Pierce but mainly because everyone ripped on him. Chang was actually pretty great, too.
I always found the Dean best in small doses. It didn’t work as well when he became more of a focus often.
