Britta is actually the best character in all seriousness

 

Britta is definitely wayy better by the end, but I still think she's near the bottom of my list when it comes to main characters. I like the Dean more, too. That isn't a knock against her though, I love all these characters

Hickey, Frankie, Pierce and Shirley are maybe the only main characters I like less?

 

Frankie is fantastic

 

When y’all are saying she gets better or is the best by the end, do y’all mean she becomes funny? Or her character is more likable? Because I don’t care if characters are likable or not as long as they’re funny and I’m pretty sure I haven’t laughed at her once in two seasons. But her humor makes me cringe in a bad way. Abed is the same for me but he’s had a few moments that have made me laugh.

 

She gets way funnier by the end, but still remains the punching bag of the group. I think she's at her absolute best in season 6, especially her scene in the series finale that I still occasionally look up the clip for on YouTube to laugh my ass off

 

She has a lot of awesome gags, and I especially love the awkwardness of the wedding episode lmao. I like Elroy more though

Watching through S2 again now though, and I have to say, the whole Britta thinking her new friend was a lesbian plot was really cringey to watch in 2020. A lot of the homophobic jokes in general, too

The "look at me now Dad!" chant kills me though

 

Only “main” character I don’t care for is that old dude from season 5 that I don’t even remember the name of

 

Buzz Hickey! Oh man I love him. But maybe because I'm such a big Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul fan. I love the D&D episode with him and his son. Still bottom of the barrel compared to other characters, but it was fun having him

Abed's nod to him in the sci-fi movie episode of S6 was nice

 

might be the funniest line in the whole show honestly

 

the scene where she calls the Dean an idiot but keeps apologising is one of my favourites in the entire run

 

I remember watching their cast reunion on Vulture and Dan even saying that Britta improves so much over the show. I think Yvette and a few others have said that the show basically just started letting Gillian's sense of humor in more because she's apparently just a funny goof irl lol
