Guess this premiered 10 years ago today

 

Well now I feel ancient

 

it feels like Donald Glover has been famous for way more than that but I also have no concept of time anymore

 

I'd say he's only been FAMOUS famous for like 3 years

 

Also, this show is so important to me and it's insane that it's so old. I'm slowly rewatching it right now with a friend and it absolutely holds up

 

Ap.net was literally flooded with Community or Parks & Rec gifs and quotes at the time, so this how I got into both. Wild that it's been that long.

 

I feel like this show doesn’t get its due as one of the great sitcoms of this century. Easily top 3-5 for me. As much as people talk about the meta aspects of it, the best part is the heart of it and how well-crafted the characters are.

 

Probably because of the serious decline in quality after season 3. The first 3 seasons are absolutely some of the best ever though

 

Seasons 5 and 6 were great

 

I love 5 and 6 and they have some of the absolute top episodes (pierce's will), but 1-3 are my absolute favorite seasons of television period.

Tbh I hold a grudge against Rick and Morty because I believe that that show is so successful that it led to the demand for the Community movie getting drowned out by the demand for 50 more seasons of R&M.

 

Dan Harmon and Chevy Chase being dicks and the Jeff/Annie relationship aging poorly cooled me a bit but it's still great

 

What if the Arrested Development movie and the Community movie became the same movie? Like a crossover event? jk hahaha unless? I'll see myself out.

 

If arrested development does anything more I’ll probably chop my fingers off

 

‘Community’: Sony Pictures Television To Take Out To Streaming Market – Deadline

 

Community is my go-to "I need something on in the background as I clean the house or get work done" tv show. Hopefully it moves to a streaming service I already have.

That being said, when it leaves Hulu I'll have one less reason to keep it. That'll save me some money.

 

I'm confused by what this means. So Sony will pull it from Hulu and then sell to the highest bidder?

Surprised Sony has control over it since the NBC logo is in the corner of every episode on Hulu, including S6. Figured NBC had the distribution rights

 

I'm sure NBC will try to bid pretty high to get Community on "The Peacock"

 

Yeah, Hulu will be dead to me when NBC streaming hits. Definitely not going to be paying for either of them at that point tho.

 

Weird that there was randomly news about this show for the first time in forever today, I was slowly watching through the show again with my mom and sister who had never seen it and we just finished it tonight. The finale is so fucking well-done, it still gets to me. Still one of my all time favorite shows

 

I was at a party this past weekend and somehow people started asking if Community was a better show than R&M and i knew i was in the right place because almost everyone said yeah.

I'm sorry but absolutely not. Divorced from it's shitty fanbase, maaaybe s2 of Rick and Morty beats out 4 and 5 of Community, but even that's a stretch.
