Tell me about it. I am sure that is coming in the not-too-distant future.

I have been able to keep up my nove reading as I have discovered the joys of audiobooks while working out. But comics are proving much more elusive. I just keep telling (lying?) myself that when the wedding is over, things will be better.

So, according to the new Mighty Thor, Mjolnir is alive, and its "secret origin" or whatever will be addressed next issue. Weird, but also kinda cool.

Also, Civil War II was a lot of fun, though much like with Secret Wars' more action-packed issues, I imagine this will read better in context once the event is finished. The end of this issue was... weird. Based on upcoming and continuing titles, neither character in that final vision is in any sort of real danger, but I'm sure something interesting will come of it in the next issue.

    Now on to more reading...

That was easily the best issue of Green Lanterns thus far. So much humor and so many good vibes, and generally enjoyable art for once! After that Red Dawn arc, which probably lasted an issue longer than necessary, this was a great breath of fresh air. I hope they continue to fit in issues like this now and then.

Justice League was fun, though I do hope the next issue takes a breather like this issue of GLs did. 5 issues of nonstop action against a threat that, in the end, was really explained is a bit much. I'm pretty sure Hitch is building a long-term story with this, so the lack of answers is fine, but some down-tempo issues would help the flow a lot.

A few more issues to go...

...and, that's it. Triple post, but screw it, I felt like talking about everything in separate bursts as I read this week.

I have not liked All-New Wolverine all that much since the first arc. The issue with Squirrel Girl and the annual with Spider-Gwen were fun, but as a whole, the bar set with those wonderful first 6 issues hasn't been close to matched. I'm thinking about dropping it now, will all the upcoming Marvel NOW! stuff in coming months, but maybe Enemy of the State will get the series back on track.

Hellcat is a lot of fun every month. Though, there's not much to say about it besides it being fun. Leth and Williams keep things delightfully playful in a way that never impresses but never really disappoints, either.

Trinity was really good, thanks to Francis Manapul being the bomb. However, in spite of this being a monthly series with a later launch than other Rebirth titles, Clay Mann will jump on as artist as soon as, like, the 4th issue? His work on Poison Ivy was crumby. Knowing that the other artist is coming so soon makes me want to not continue any more, tbh. The only explanation I can think of is that maybe Manapul is working on that Aquaman: Earth One project that was announced last year? That's the only excuse I can accept, lol.

Woah, I had no idea a Raven solo book was even coming out. And they finally got rid of that weird ass demon armor costume she had in the last volume of Teen Titans. Pretty enjoyable, def gonna add it to my list. Superman still MVP Rebirth book tho. I'm amazed that Trinity #1 was a slow issue focused on characterization. So fucking good. I expected this book to be a throwaway.

Civil War was interesting this week. I'm especially surprised at the impact it had on the Guardians of the Galaxy. Poor guys. Some overall weird stuff though. Kitty mentioned that her students were on the opposing side, and then they never even spoke? Maybe there will be some mention of it in the next All-New X-men, but I doubt it. Also, why was Old Man Logan against all of the Extraordinary team? Civil War; X-Men was a decent spinoff. Nicely sets the stage for Death of X, IvX, and whatever the third part of the story is called.

Can't believe there is only one issue left of Vision! God this book is so painfully emotional for a book about an android synthezoid. I'm really perplexed about what's going to happen after this book ends though. Alot of pretty relationship-damaging stuff is happening for Vision, and none of it is being currently reflected in the other Marvel books he's appearing in, so it would lead me to believe it takes place after Civil War, but before Champions. Also, Victor Mancha :( I really hope they bring him back when they inevitably reboot the Runaways book for the Hulu show, but even that may not feature him as he was a late addition to the team.

Alright. Bought 7TE because a friend highly recommended it. Time to see what the fuss is all about.

Also bought my friend's extra Saga trades. So that's going to happen too.

Raven looked really cool, but since it's a mini and pull list isn't mini, I'm gonna wait for the trade. Trinity was wonderful, but I can't get over the feeling of dread knowing that Mann will fill in for Manapul on art real soon. Blah.

What sides were he and they on? I forget.

Ah, damn that's disappointing. I assume it's just a bit of setup for her rejoining Teen Titans.

OML (and I guess technically Nightcrawler based on what happened with Suitcase Hydra Lady?) was on Iron Man's team with the All-New team, and Magik, Storm, Iceman, Forge and Jean Grey were all on Team Captain Marvel, despite them all being on the same side over in Civil War: X-Men.

Read vol 1 of American Vampire and loved it.

Also was not a fan of the artwork in vol 3 of Rat Queens but still love the story/characters so I'm sad it seems to be on hiatus.

AV only gets better. Like, a lot better.

As for RQ, you might not want to read into that. It's a great series, but the artist was in some really hot water.

I'm excited, haha. It built things up real well.

I already read into it, ha. It's depressing, I loved the art so much for the first eight issues but it makes complete sense why he was taken off. I hope the writer can find a new artist that works and carry on.

Anyone read Green Arrow? I jumped on with Kevin Smith brought him back to life and loved it. Then Meltzer and Winnick took over and I was a huge fan up until the New 52. After that it seemed like they changed everything I liked and mirrored the CW show..... curious to see if with Rebirth they changed it up that much?

Rebirth is my first Green Arrow. It's really good. Doesn't resemble the show at all.

Green Arrow is another book that's been fucking fantastic since Rebirth. Almost all of the solo books have been incredibly captivating.

I didn't read Civil War: X-Men, but depending on the chronology of it all, a schism isn't that hard to believe. Maybe what happened with Hulk and Hawkeye was a factor.

Though, the more I think about it, OML should really be on Carol's side, lol. Hasn't he been really into preventing the future that he came from? Which is the whole premise of Civil War 2. I'm not reading his solo title, so I don't know if he's still doing that or moved on, but his appearance in All-New Wolverine's tie-in arc had him still doing that. Though maybe Laura was the exception due to the personal nature of their connection. I also can't imagine him being too mad at the younger version of his roadtrip buddy killing the Hulk, lol. I dunno. This could be looked at so many different ways.

Yeah those are all good points/factors that I'm sure Bendis didn't bother thinking about. So many character motivations just don't make any sense. It's like they picked teams likes kids playing kickball, whoever got to who first claimed them and that's that.

The original Logan is still dead. Old Man Logan has his own series, and Laura/X-23 is still Wolverine in All-New Wolverine.

The first arc was easily one of my favorite Wolverine stories I've ever read. From the initial flashback to her with Logan, to the narrative around clones made of her to be killing machines, to her working out what it means to be "Wolverine"... The whole thing worked perfectly. Unfortunately, since then, it's felt like the writer has no idea what to do with the character. Apparently a version of this upcoming arc was the original plan for the first one before they came up with what they did, which has me optimistic. Maybe he just wanted to tie into CW2 but just had nothing interesting to say about it not said elsewhere.

lol. Poor Bendis. With Marvel's creative retreat structure, I'd like to believe they thought out which major players would be where as a group, but who knows. At least the event has enough chaos to cover over things like that, lol.

Also agree that Green Arrow has been good. Did anyone read Trinity? Glad Manapul is back on a book again. Art is awesome.

@Allpwrtoslaves and I both spoke well of it on the last page, amidst posts discussing other comics, lol. But, yeah, #1 was awesome. Unfortunately, literally the third issue already has Clay Mann on art, in spite of it being a monthly book that launched a few months into Rebirth. Which, at least that cover looks much better than his crumby work on Poison Ivy, perhaps in part due to the coloring, but still, blah. I just really hope Mann is only filling in so Manapul can finish the Aquaman: Earth One graphic novel announced last year with no further updates; any other reason wouldn't satisfy me, lol.

Jeff Lemire/Andrea Sorrentino's GA was really really great and added a lot to the mythology. I'm not familiar with other versions of GA so maybe it sucks I really don't know.

I forgot to talk about Karnak! Such a ridiculously good book. Thank god they redesigned his look, it's so much more badass. Even though the release schedule has been fucked, I really hope that Marvel doesn't get cold feet and cancel it prematurely. Warren Ellis is doing amazing stuff.

Speaking of Ellis, I'm really hoping that wave 2 of Marvel NOW!(v2), along with the reveal of the new X-book lineup, has a new Nextwave. Out of nowhere alot of the Nextwave characters have been popping up here and there for guest spots, and they all have been using the ☠☠☠☠☠, including Spectrum, so I'm gonna hop on the speculation train. One can only hope.

I really hope that Infamous Ironman, Unworthy Thor, and Nova all deliver greatness. Richard Rider will return to restore Marvel Cosmic to it's former glory! And at this point, I really hope that they never revert Doom back to old-school villain. His character has progressed so far he deserves to make the kind of permanent leap forward in progression that Magneto did.
