All-Star Batman is a lot of fun and has an intriguing plot, but the best Batman comic right now might be Detective Comics. This week's issue was so great. I've seriously considered returning to it after this upcoming crossover and picking it as the Batman book on my pull, instead of All-Star.
Yeah. Well, strictly speaking, Batman assembled the team and co-leads with Batwoman, but yeah, she has the hands-on, immediate leadership role. This arc was very Batwoman-centric, and there was a subplot with Tim Drake that culminated wonderfully these past couple issues. There's a splash page this issue with Batman and Spoiler that was absolute perfection.
It's also dealing with the fallout of setting up all the Bat-Robots back in Superheavy. It's really good, I haven't read the new issue and I'm just now remembering how the last one left off so I should get on that.
I've checked out most of the new Bat comics but none of them grab me anywhere near as much as the Snyder/Capullo books. I think they've ruined Batman for me for a while.
They really got me into comics. That run was fantastic. Always doing something fresh and new each arch
Anything in particular to make you think that? Personally the only 2 Robin's I'm familiar with are Damian and Dick. I did enjoy the Red Robin series though but I don't think I've read anything where he was ACTUALLY Robin.
I guess he is mostly the one in least familiar with. Any story I've read with him has felt pretty vanilla. All of the other Robins have huge historical importance.
Read both volumes of Earth One and Batman and Robin Eternal that I had checked out. Really enjoyed the alternate Earth One story. Hopefully whoever has the Wonder Woman one will return it soon so I can read that, too. Batman and Robin Eternal was okay. That was a lot of issues to cover the Mother storyline over two trades. I think it was 26 issues total. Also, reviewed WW #6 and Gotham Academy: Second Semester #1 this week! You can find those here: Deanna Chapman | Comic Book Blog | Talking Comics Once I catch up on the Rebirth issue from this week, I think I'll be taking a brief Batman break and maybe get through some of my Image trades I have.
Haha, he should try it. It's really funny. I haven't been reading comics for very long but it's the first one that's made me laugh out loud multiple times.
Currently reading Teen Titans: Earth One Vol. One. WW will be next. Really enjoying these alternate origin stories.
Haven't heard anything on a third volume at all. I know Superman has 3 so it definitely seems possible.
I'm just wondering if you felt satisfied with the ending or if it left it with a cliffhanger like the first volume.
I think Geoff Johns stated either in an interview or his foreword that he's really looking forward to working on a third one. Apparently him and Gary Frank have a lot of ideas as to where it will go
