Good! I knew nothing about it and bought it solely because I've been enjoying Tom King lately. Need to get on his Vision run as it goes up on Marvel Unlimited.
Sweet, I read like 4 pages of the first issue online and immediately decided I needed to start getting the trades.
Anyone here know someone would be down to do art for a comic proposal? Really want to try a first issue to send around to Dark Horse/Image/TopShelf/anywhere at all!
Not an artist, just someone with similar thoughts, waiting for a friend of mine to be ready for a collaboration, lol. When I looked into potential companies to submit creator-owned projects to, in addition to Image, I came across Action Lab and 215ink. I definitely plan on trying with both of 'em eventually, just 'cause. And if you start a project without anyone to release it, just self-publish. Ka-Blam is pretty great for that; my brother printed up a comic-sized art book through them, and it was nice and professional.
That sounds great, I'll definitely look into those links! Just a bummer that most submissions want at least a partially finished work which includes art, lettering, and inking. Need to find some peeps to help me out! You know of anywhere other than like devianart to look for collaborators?
I remember hearing that there was a decent subreddit somewhere for that, but I'm not a Reddit user, so I don't recall what it was. I just happen to have a friend who's a pretty decent artist, who I'm gonna do something with someday, when his life has time (hopefully in the next year).
Regardless! Let me know how that goes! Have you read like Eisner and McCloud's books on making comics?
Thanks for all the batman recs. Attempting to make a list of priority buys. Pretty excited. Hoping batman rebirth tpb releases soon as well This week: Betty vs Veronica 2 doom patrol 1 Gwen pool 6 I'm Way excited for these 3.
Just finished Omega Men and I can't believe that more people didn't read it. I heard Tom King on a podcast say it was the lowest selling comic of last year. If you guys get a chance to read it, please do. It's wonderful.
Ha, no. I definitely should. I did read Bendis' book, which was fun, but it admitted that people should read McCloud's book before anything else. And thanks, same to you!
Finished the 2008 run of Secret Six. Going down as one of my favorites. I loved every issue. And new Batman was great, so excited for the events.
Now that I've been given a login for Talking Comics, y'all can find my reviews here: Deanna Chapman | Comic Book Blog | Talking Comics I did a couple before I had an account so they aren't in the feed there. It's been fun. Up next is a review of Batman Vol. 9 Bloom for tomorrow!
Just read the first two volumes of Cloonan's Gotham Academy. I think it was the first of her work I've really read. Definitely a fun story while still managing to be serious. Really enjoyed it.
Went to B&N today and tried not to buy everything. Found out I renewed my card on New Years despite that never actually happening. Suck that I've bought a bunch since without using my discount. Meh. Got some good stuff though.
