Picked up Snotgirl #2 yesterday and ordered Pretty Deadly #2 through Amazon since my lcs didn't get it for some reason.
Pretty Deadly vol. 2 was so good, probably even better than the first. I can't wait for more... whenever it eventually happens.
Read Descender Vol 1 and it was just okay. I love Nguyen's art as expected but I don't feel like the story is that great really. Has a very Star Wars feel to it which is kinda cool but idk it just doesn't seem fully realized I guess
Read Injection Vol. 1 yesterday and really enjoyed it. I didn't know anything about it really going into it so I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked it.
Give her a pet Ninetails and some wrestling merch, and this will be the most Henry thing I've ever seen.
Slowly making my way through my Spider-Man by Roger Stern omnibus... An issue had Spider-Man throw a spider tracer at a car during a chase and accidentally hit a pigeon instead. The best part? Three issues later, why looking for someone else he put a tracer on, he found that bird again. Amazing.
Finished Descender Vol 2. Definitely better than Vol 1 and can't wait to see what happens. Becoming a lot more intriguing!
Comic newbie's library picks this week: Hickman's Fantastic Four Volume 1 Abnette & Lanning's Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 1 After these, it's back to novel territory with Bloodline haha. These comics are addictive.
I've actually been reading actual books lately as well. I'm at 3 on the year and about to start another. My wife had a goal for me to do 2 so I already shattered that!
Just added a bunch more books to my wishlist on IST. Hopefully, next month I can start ordering again.
It truly is an addiction. I wanna place an order this weekend, while Omega Men is still 50% off, but I try to limit myself to orders close to $50 at a time (just enough to get free shipping), and I haven't decided yet which other trades I'm gonna throw in there. Thinking of throwing a Spider-Girl trade in there, since I haven't read any Mayday Parker stuff in literal years and don't actually own any.
I did not. As much as I adore Bendis, I've dragged my feet on his creator-owned stuff. I just got the first volume of Powers recently and got Jinx at the beginning of the year, but have read neither. Scarlet looks like Bendis at his best, though, especially with Maleev on art, so maybe I'll have to throw that in this time around.
I really, REALLY suck at following writers, lol. I'll follow my favorite artists just about anywhere, but all my favorite writers have more material I haven't read than that I have. Not sure why that is, though writers do churn out more than artists, so maybe that's a factor.
I hear ya. I feel like I find out about a new (or usually old) Gail Simone book that I want to read immediately pretty often. Can't wait to order her Tomb Raider run.
Ha, speaking of Gail Simone, I think Clean Room will be in that next order of mine. You ever just search by writer or artist on IST? Or Comic Vine? I don't as much as I used to, but it's a great way of seeing all the material out there you want to consume but don't have the time or money to do so. At least I know I have years and years before running out of material to read! lulz.
I try and avoid doing it for that reason. lol. Stumbling upon it makes me appreciate it more. Clean Room is super weird. It takes a while to really grasp what was going on. Then again, I'm still not sure. lol
The art in Clean Room just looks so sweet. It looks like a crazy series. I recommended it to a friend who normally likes Disturbed, guns, first person shooters, etc., and he loved it, which made me feel accomplished, lol. He also bought Through the Woods by Emily Carroll on a whim and loved it, and just borrowed my copy of Blankets. It's so fun watching someone like that, whose first comics were The Darkness, get so "cool" with his comics so fast, lol.
