Southern Bastards didn't strike me as something I would like at first, but holy shit is it good. Got through the first two volumes in no time. Not too big on Tokyo Ghost. First Remender book I'm not on board with right away.
i can confirm: it is fantastic. seriously, i have gotten so emotional about it. it is very well written and illustrated. i just...love everything about it. yeah, i don't even know what else to say at this point haha.
Just make a new Bat title called Snyder's Batman and let him do whatever the fuck he wants and get on with it.
It looks like it is going to be something like that. From the post I read, he'll be writing a Bat book that will come out at his own pace. I much prefer that.
Good! The man has shown more than capable that he knows what he's doing with Bats, just let him. As much as i'd love to have him do epic events and whatnot, i'd much rather see him stay at DC than anything.
Tore through The Wicked + The Divine after receiving it as a birthday gift last month. First two books were great, not sure wtf they were thinking with that third one...
Knew they were making a show about this, didn't realize it was coming so soon. Premieres June 3rd on Cinemax and already got picked up for Season 2.
i feel like i don't have any motivation to read dc books for the next few month until rebirth happens haha
Seeing someone new get so excited about a comic is the best. Yeah, it's fantastic. I let a friend of mine still new to comics read the first issue, and she loved it, too; I'm definitely going to have to pick up a hardcover copy when the whole series is done and collected so that I can let all the women I know interested in comics borrow it. The only WW series I feel comfortable comparing this one to stylistically is the Brian Azzarello/Cliff Chiang New 52 series basically everyone already recommended, which I think you ordered the first volume or so of already? Chiang is a great artist whose work isn't that far removed from that of Renae De Liz in this series, and the mythological leaning is also comparable.
Spider-Gwen is going to launch into a roughly year-long "Gwenom" arc inspired by that one variant cover: My guess is that it'll basically be her version of the Alien Costume Saga, Spider-Carnage, etc. Anyways, this will apparently also be the end of artist Robbi Rodriguez's comic book career? He's retiring from the industry after this arc to pursue other interests. Weird and a total bummer, even though I'm not actively following his book anymore, but best of luck to him on any future ventures.
It's not new but I got around to reading Alias Vol. 2 yesterday. Looking forward to getting to the next two.
Just looked it up. Yeah, legally blind. I did not know that. If his retiring is because of further deterioration of his vision, that's ridiculously depressing. He did mention possibly doing random small things down the road for fun, so he's clearly not incapable of doing work yet, at least that we can tell. So good. Bendis might be returning to the character within the next year and apparently has an arc in mind, which is an exciting prospect. I still need to read The Pulse.
I'm not familiar with his work at all but it's insane to me to think that someone that's legally blind can still consistently put out work like that.
Yeah I saw that! I still need to read The Pulse as well. I'm sure I have it saved in Marvel Unlimited to get to it at some point.
Is "xapplepiex" or whatever (Ross) on here yet? He'd know what's been good in the X-Men world in recent years. All I know is that All-New Wolverine is great.
@Henry, you download stuff, right? Do you have Spider-Woman #5? I really want the page where Jess wonders if her baby's alive while her friends beat up the Superior Foes so I can make that panel my Facebook banner, lol.
