This is semi-comic book related, as it's concerning the Scott Pilgrim series. But I am soo tempted to buy this new figure of Ramona by Mondotees. Mondo Gets it Together for its New Ramona Flowers Figure [Exclusive]
So are you guys going for the solo versions, or the ones where Ramona has Scott peeking out of her purse?
Alright well we have 72 hours starting at 12 central to get it. so in an hour and a half i know what I'll be doing.
Haha. I already have an alert set on my phone to remind me since I'm at work. Know I'd forget otherwise.
Mine won't even offer me a shipping option. --- Never mind, I tried buying a magazine along with the figure which made the shipping option unavailable. Weird.
I'm of the belief you shouldn't be charged until something ships. Then again, they probably wouldn't have the money to cover production so that's why I typically assume places charged right away for stuff that's months out.
So I'm curious, how many of you purchase collectible figures? I used to buy some when I was younger, but have since cut down. The main reason I bought the Ramona figure is because of how much of a fan I am of the Scott Pilgrim comics.
When DC was putting out those 3 3/4 inch figures a few years ago I bought a ton of those to put on display. I also bought a few of the Blackest Night figures. And i tend to buy any cool Aquaman or Supergirl I see.
I have a couple figures and a funko. Will pick up more of the latter eventually. I don't do much collecting. I'm mostly into this one because I'm a huge Scott Pilgrim fan.
Yeah, it basically got me into comics as a whole. When I was working at Borders I read a ton of manga and didn't understand why it wasn't with the rest of them. Haha. Hopped on around volume three and fell in love. This page won me over.
Yeah I still have mixed opinions about the movie because I didn't feel it captured Ramona and Scott's relationship to its fullest, but that's a consequence of a few different factors. But I give Edgar Wright credit for being able to capture a lot of the other fun elements of the comic.
out of curiosity are we doing mostly "true comic books" ie superhero shit, or are we open to other genres/graphic novels/etc?
well if that's the case I've been reading Wuvable Oaf and it's adorable. about a bear (ie big burly gay dude) in the punk scene who makes dolls and lives with 27 cats.
