Batman and Son is tremendous so far...The art is just blowing me away. I have a feeling I'm going to really enjoy this Morrison run.
And here's my Dark Night review! Also, spoiler alert as usual. I didn't put that in the article though since it's about something that happened in real life quite some time ago. Review: ‘Dark Night: A True Batman Story’ by Paul Dini
I ain't even mad. The Clone Saga failed 'cause it was poorly executed, not 'cause clones intrinsically suck. The visuals make it seem like this will take the "playing god" aspect of cloning very literally, which could be really cool. I'll get the collected edition for sure.
Really? I figured between that last issue of Spider-man/Deadpool, Renew Your Vows, and the now several references to Peter, Stark, and MJ all living together in Avengers Tower yet none of them remember it just quite correctly, were puzzle pieces leading to a showdown between Peter and Mephisto to get his marriage and kid back.
I just hate that whole Mephisto thing and want it never revisited. lol. Clones are redeemable. That "Brand New Day" or whatever should be forgotten, along with Gwen and Norman's kids. I'm all for getting my fav pair together, but I'd rather it just happen anew.
Ok so I read Batman and Son, the most recent trade which I believe includes The Black Glove as well, and I'm curious if I should get The Resurrection of Ra's al Ghul or just go straight to Batman RIP. Leaning towards skipping it. Also I caught up on the New Suicide Squad and it ends up the conclusion is the next issue before the Rebirth so that works out pretty well.
I've always been under the assumption that the right way to read Morrison's run is with Resurrection after B&S. I assume you read The Black Glove?
Yeah according to Amazon the copy of Batman and Son I have includes The Black Glove and I just read the entire thing, so I'm assuming I did, I might want to check the issues to be sure. Amazon's list has for Grant Morrisons Run B&S then Resurection then something must have been deleted because it jumps from 2 to 4 with RIP. Resurrection looks like a lot of extra bat family stuff as apposed to Batman so that's why I'm wondering if it's important/good. EDIT: Yes, I checked the issue numbers and I did read everything collected in Black Glove. It was incredible.
Battle For The Cowl probably even though it's not written by Morrison but it kinda ties in. I hated RIP but loved The Black Glove and the whodunnit aspect. B&S was great too!
Yeah the whole And Then There Were None framing was fantastic. Totally a different side of Batman. I pretty much loved the entire damn collection, haha. Battle for the Cowl sounds cool, I'll probably check it out after RIP and Final Crisis
Tbh even if it's read IN order it's still confusing being that it's Morrison, just less confusing haha.
IST has been slow lately. Ordered something Wednesday. It was pulled by that afternoon. Still don't have shipping info.
Battle for the Cowl was Tony Daniels. Great artist but poor writer in my opinion. I loved RIP...crazy Silver Age concepts in there. Just awesome.
I have a question! For DC Rebirth how are they going to collect these volumes together? Would I have to get the individual super hero trade paperbacks? Or would there be a collection eventually to understand what happened?
I'm not sure what they are going to do with Rebirth. It's likely they put all of the Rebirth issues in one collected and then the individual character stories in the #1 trade for each character.
