so what happens in DC Universe: Rebirth #1 leaked. Decided to look at it cause I wasnt planning on reading it in the first place, the internet is about to blow up when this issue comes out.
I mean, it's a great way to bring in those characters, but it didn't need to happen. And I'm not sure how it is going to help sales.
Know nothing about any of those characters so it's pretty significantly meh to me. The Batman related one is interesting though
Sorry I do not understand this. The digital is releasing shorter issues? But basically they still have the same amount of content as the physical right? I'm following the physical one (which iirc is at #6)
Gonna grab the new DC just to see what's up. Haven't really indulged in DC before apart from stuff like Killing Joke, etc so all of this is new to me.
The digital first series tend to release every week for around $.99. After enough of the digital issues are out they collect them physically(typically around 3-4 weekly installments) for $2.99-$3.99. Essentially it's a way for pure physical readers to still enjoy the Digital First series' as well.
Mmmm while the spoilers that everyone is freaking our about will be very hit-or-miss based on how they handle it, the rest of Rebirth honestly sounds very great. The whole return of Pre-52 Wally West, and general realization that the New 52 stole more than just 10 years of Dc history, but robbed many characters of their love and relationships excites me far more. Stuff like leaked page with Oliver Queen and Dinah Lance show a whole lot with very little.
To me, it is a slap in the face to a lot of people. The biggest slap in the face goes to Alan Moore. They clearly don't give a shit about the legacy he left.
Before Watchmen and the film adaptation didn't. He criticizes superhero comics. I highly doubt they have his blessing, lol. Though, I also kinda don't care if they do? I dunno.
I do to just saying it's POSSIBLE but doubtful. Yeah I don't care either, it seems interesting but that's coming from someone who hasn't read the original source material so take that for what you will lol
Moore denounces all of it. Moore kept the issues in publications for many years just so DC couldn't get their hands on it. The only reason this is able to happen is because DC bought out the publisher specifically to use his properties down the road.
I'm on issue 6 in the original Secret Wars and I haven't been reading a lot of comics lately because it's so slow imo and I can't read two at once. Anyone else have the same opinion on Secret Wars?
halfway done with Daytripper. this book is really something else. incredibly beautiful, well drawn and written. and the pacing is godsend. it's one of those books you'd recommend to everyone you know, and I'm pretty sure anyone who gives it a go would at least get something out of it.
@Colby Searcy honestly just spent the last hour thinking about the first five issues. The scenes are just so mundane/normal but the way they are told and weaved together is so beautiful. I guess what's so great about it without spoiling too much is how it accurately portrays our own lives and the way we find wisdom and profoundness over the most boring things. Some people I know cried buckets on this. I haven't yet but I am so damn close haha.
