Did a quick review of the rerelease of Pride & Joy. Probably not by best, but I've been trying something new with shorter reviews in general. Mostly to hopefully cut down on rambling hah. Review: ‘Pride & Joy’ by Garth Ennis
Finished the entire run of Alias. I really liked it. Only complaint is that they did a fucking incredible job setting up Killgrave but the climax was sooooo freaking easy and quick. I did like the conclusion to Jessica's story though. Anyone rec Pulse?
I'm enjoying Sex, but it is all over the place. I don't think it goes two pages without going to another group of characters. lol
The news broke on social media last night (accidentally before the family was ready), but... Darwyn Cooke, Celebrated Comics Artist and Writer, Passes Away One of my favorite comic book writer/artists, possibly my favorite artist. Best known for New Frontier and Catwoman. Also worked on the Batman, Superman, and Batman Beyond cartoons. I truthfully wasn't too phased by a lot of this year's high profile deaths, like Prince and Bowie, but this is heartbreaking.
Just awful news. New Frontier is a masterpiece. His work on The Spirit and Catwoman were so awesome. And, the Parker adaptations are exceptional. An incredible loss for the industry. I am going to thumb through my Absolute Edition of New Frontier tonight.
I think the only book I need out of the Morrison run is the time traveling Batman one, which I don't think I need.
I have the first volume but have yet to read it. Trying to not buy any more comics until I read through what I have. Read the first issue of Snyder's Batman last night and will hopefully read through Court of Owls and City of Owls this week. But, I have like 4 books to read and review this week so we'll see how that goes. Thankfully 3/4 are like 200 pages or less.
I don't know how you put Batman down. lol I don't think I could stop until I got through Death of the Family. What a captivating story.
All-Star Batman #1, according to the August solicitations, is $4.99. So much for holding the line at $2.99, lol.
Meh. The vast majority of the titles in August are still $2.99. And it looks like it is a little over-sized. As long as the core titles remain $2.99, I will be happy.
It'll likely be only for that issue. Snyder will likely say something on Twitter he tends to on stuff like that.
