I totally forgot that Alfred being around might make it out of continuity.

Weird that the 3 Jokers thing was such a big deal in main-continuity DC but the follow up on it was moved to Black Label.

He was also around in Doomsday Clock which is suppose to be in future continuity, so who knows! Batgirl is also not wearing her updated outfit.

Weird thought that has a spoiler for the most recent issue of Batman regarding Alfred, Now I want to go back and check to see if Alfred interacted with anyone else during 3J and DC, since Batman is seeing Alfred because of the Joker toxin maybe that effect sticks with him and we get an Alfred ghost, lol.

What issue/arc is this scene from?

It's one of, if not the last arc. When Bruce doesn't have his memories and the Joker is "cured" and looks normal and they have a conversation on a park bench
    EDIT: Issue 48

I may or may not have read the first issue of 3 Jokers online... not a fan?

Introducing Barbara by having her running on a treadmill while a television talks about restless leg syndrome, followed by her taking a steamy shower with close ups on her Killing Joke scar, is pretty bad, lol.

Whatever. I’ve read some good classic Batman this week, so it’s all good.

Talked about it in the thread for The Batman, but reread Year One, which is still a perfect superhero comic.

And, halfway through Year Two, which was published shortly after Year One as sort of a companion series/sequel, though it's not as well known & beloved 'cause it's not by Miller & Mazzucchelli, lol. The first issue is drawn by Alan Davis, who's a classic superhero artist I like a lot. The rest is by a pre-Spider-Man Todd McFarlane, though he only inked himself on the last issue (which is actually probably for the better, 'cause you get to ease your way from Alan's cleaner style to Todd's wilder stuff). This story was a big influence on the animated movie Mask of the Phantasm.

This is how a lot of X-Men comics by white dudes trying to talk about Racism™ honestly feel to me, lol.

(I’ve read very little of Hickman’s stuff thus far, but one thing I appreciate about what I’ve seen is that, instead of mediocrely doing race stuff, he’s found a different angle better suited to his strengths. Do kinda wish at least one of the bigger companion titles had a well equipped writer, like Vita Ayala or Mariko Tamaki, handling that side, though.)

I shouldn’t be surprised that some people are whiny about this, lol; fandom sucks.

But, like, how cool is it that Fortnite is tying into the current Thor comic book series (not movies)? With, apparently, a tie-in crossover comic written by Donny Cates that actually fits into part of his first arc in Thor? Hope it really resonates with some non-readers & plants some good seeds of interest in the medium.

Backed this comic that looks like a ton of fun. They only did a 15 day period to raise money and I’m really hoping they hit their goal.

Oh shit, didn’t realize this was getting a print edition. Remember wishing it would when the digital one came out, ‘cause it seemed super cool but I’m a print comics reader.

    Super affordable, too!

I'm loving the Marvel x Fortnite crossover. Only weird thing about it is seeing some of these characters use guns lol

Yeah I immediately backed it when I heard about it haha. I don’t care for cats really but it still looks wonderful.

On a somewhat similar note I started playing the Avengers game last night and it's so much fun. There's a whole lot of Avengers love in the first missions, like a million references flew right over my head. (we'll see if it keeps it up once the looter portion kicks in)

That scene(s) was amazing. I loved that it played on this "as long as bruce isnt batman, i cant be joker" type of thing.

I got frustrated playing because I felt like the camera kept trying to reorient itself to a specific direction all the time. I obsessively play Destiny so I'm used to having relatively complete camera control to where the direction im facing is the direction im looking and the direction im gonna go. but I am intrigued by the story so i may pick up the game. They need more info/details when playing with the leveling system, too.

And, a little thread about Greg Land’s tracing tendencies:

It’s so frustrating to me that Marvel has been doing “Symbiote Spider-Man” minis & one-shots set in 80s continuity, starting with a Mysterio story, which should all be extremely my shit... but lets Greg Land draw it all.

I guess he’s just good enough at hitting timelines & easy enough to work with, plus an established enough name, to keep getting steady Marvel work in spite of his infamous inadequacies. But, like, still. Why.

Also, I like the distinction Jay makes as far as tracing goes. It’s not just that he recycles stuff. He’s also a bad visual storyteller whose choices in swiping often land in bad ethical territory.
