Giant Size X-Men: Jean Grey and Emma Frost has gorgeous artwork/colors. The ending kinda broke my heart too, damn.
It also kinda furthered that weird ass polyamourous relationship jean, Scott, and Logan have. So weird. I feel like Xavier has got to be implanting some weird shit in everyone’s head. They’re all way too okay with how everything is. I keep getting that feeling across all of the X books.
The Next Great X-Men Crossover Arrives This Summer "X OF SWORDS will be a 15-part crossover" Oh boy. Was already thinking about tapping out of X-Force because of a couple Spider-titles that interest me, but this settles it. Will probably be a fun story, but still... y'know, too much of a good thing, etc.
Welp, the comic book store I had gone to a few times since moving to CO just closed up shop. They have another location, but it’s further and way less convenient. I debated stopping by yesterday but passed only to find out that it was their last day of business.
Ouch, that sucks. My nearest LCS is hanging in there, so it's refreshing to see the local community continually support them. My heart would break if they shut down.
It happened to my LCS in California too. I’m sensing a pattern here... I did check out another shop today that was only a few miles further. They had a pretty good selection, but I’m trying to spend less in March so I probably won’t be back for a bit.
Y'all talking 'bout your local comic shops, how local are you talking? The shop I have my pull list at is about a half hour away. The nice thing for me is, I have a lot of good, fairly sturdy options. My shop, New Dimension Comics, actually has 6 locations, two of 'em w/in that same distance. Pretty nice size comic business there, w/ a nice annual convention that's spun out of of it in recent years (3 Rivers Con). And, being a half hour from Pittsburgh means I have a lot of other nice options roughly w/in that range, including an awesome underground shop called Copacetic Comics, & the movie/music/book/comic store Eides Entertainment. Anyways, yeah, I would be terrified if I ran a standalone traditional comic book shop right now. Such an unstable industry.
In California, like a 10-15 min drive depending on traffic. It was only a few miles away. In CO, I’d say 20-30 minutes and closer to 10-15 miles away. Everything except for some grocery stores and a library are all roughly that far for me now since we aren’t in a city/suburb area really. The one that closed down has another location but I think that’s closer to a 40 minute drive.
I found out recently that the LCS I frequent opened a new location so they must getting doing well enough. I think they are up to 6 locations now, 2 within the past like 3 years
Mariko Tamaki Takes Over DC's 'Wonder Woman' This Summer Happy to see one of my favorite writers get this opportunity. Wonder if she lasts longer than G. Willow Wilson did.
I just finished the Fear Agent series. Really enjoyed it... Sure there's some cliche stuff, but it mostly has a pretty unique feel to it. I know that Seth Rogen is adapting to a TV series which should be interesting. Anyone else read it?
DC released the alternate pages for Death in the Family. The most tragic moment in Batman’s history almost looked like this
