Is Identity Crisis not canon anymore in the New 52 and/or Rebirth era? I don't keep up, but if between Flashpoint, Rebirth, & Doomsday Clock we can officially write that off forever, that'd be great. My one criticism of Tom King is that he somehow believes that Identity Crisis is good (which worries me about Heroes in Crisis). And, I know Geoff Johns isn't in the role at DC he was, w/ Jim Lee & Dan DiDio running the show. But, I still wanna believe, even more than Killing Joke, that Identity Crisis can be forgotten.
Have been sitting on the first two volumes of The Wicked + The Divine for so long. Finally been working on it, halfway through the second volume. It's so hard to decide how much I like it & how much I simply appreciate it. The art is absolutely fantastic, Laura is a wonderful character, & the premise is really compelling. But, something keeps me from being fully invested. Maybe it's just a hair too pagan & carnal for my tastes, lol. Like, I'm only gonna be so into a fictional Lucifer. Still, Laura's journey & that McKelvie art keeps me going. Once I build my funds back up a little, maybe I should just commit to an IST order of the rest of what's available.
Sue was found to be alive during Gail's Secret Six book during the New 52 time frame. It was a really touching issue.
I don't really take any of the characters as gods at all. They are basically just kids with super powers that like to party. The whole situation isn't really explained until the sixth or seventh trade, which may be a bit long to decide if you like it or not. lol. I'm actually thrilled with the direction it goes in after a certain event.
I'll see how I feel after I finish vol 2, but in spite of not quite loving it, I do currently love enough about it to keep reading. Knowing that there's some kind of impending explanation or whatever certainly helps feed that curiosity. And, again... McKelvie draws so good, lol.
Oh man. I am still on the fence about Morning Glories, but one of the characters was singing a Yeasayer song and I'm so happy. I love when writers throw that kinda stuff in. It made me so happy seeing all of the Doomtree references in Revival. Talking to Dessa and Tim Seeley about it was awesome.
I’m really interested in the Miles Morales Spider-Verse variant cover and my local place couldn’t get it so I tried another place across town. They only have like 5 issues and they open at 10 am so guess where I’m going to be waking up early for.
well I work until midnight and I don’t usually go to sleep until 2 am so I usually wake up around 10. It’s around a 20 minute drive to that store.
As someone that has never really read or followed DC comics, I can’t tell you how confusing it is that everything is titled “______ Crisis”
It feels like there are only three or four that really matter. If you see interested in them, I suggest reading A LOT of DC stuff before taking the plunge. They tend to use way too many characters, many of which you've never heard of. I've been reading a lot of their books going on five years and I'm still clueless about who's who and what's going on pretty often.
I think my copy arrives at the end of the week. Ready to read the whole thing in one sitting & probably feel it too much.
I got half way through and realized I have homework due at midnight. lol oops. Loving it so far. There are beats I knew and I'm glad I forgot them.
I’m so angry that DC caved on Second Coming becuase id pressure from FoxNews and Breitbart. What a bunch of cowards. I hope Russell finds a new publisher for it soon.
I ended up showing to that comic store and I missed out on the variant I wanted by a few minutes. oh well I guess I’ll just have to pick it up online.
Ugh, my comic store had every issue of the new arc for Umbrella Academy except issue 3. I've already read them so it's not a big deal, but collection holes suck.
Mister Miracle was great. I was waiting for some twist at the end where none of it actually happened tho.
