So I'm about a third of the way through Crisis on Infinite Earths. A lot of the of newer stuff I'm reading makes a lot more sense. The stuff from Forever Evil and Darkseid Wars isn't nearly as confusing.
You might want to check out the Comic Geek Speak podcast for the Crisis Tapes. It is a very deep dive into Crisis On Infinite Earths. The one host actually did his Master's Thesis on Crisis On Infinite Earths. It was called "Worlds Will Live, Worlds Will Die: Myth, Metatext, Continuity and Cataclysm in DC Comics’ Crisis on Infinite Earths" Crisis on Infinite Earths is a great Primer for the DC Multiverse (not sure if you know what happens at the end but I also dont want to spoil a 30 year old book). After reading that read Infinite Crisis and 52. Final Crisis isn't really a Crisis book in my opinion and it is super confusing if you dont know a lot about DC (and actually very confusing if you do).
Haha thanks. I plan on check out as much of the classics as I can. I went through most of Marvels already, so I'm working on DC now. The multiverse is crazy confusing at times, so I'm taking it in stride. Even in CoIE there is a lot of, "Who the hell is that?" or "How far back do these doppelgangers go?" I'm enjoying everything I've read so far.
Yeah...it's hard to discuss this without ruining the end of Crisis On Infinite Earths but its a fun ride and we can talk after you are done with it.
Rebirth designs. Really not liking the fact that they got rid of an amazing WW design so soon. Great to have Jessica though.
@Henry which one is that? Don't think I know it. I'm looking forward to Snyder writing Croc, definitely feel like he's an under appreciated villain
Honestly, I like basically all those designs. WW looks great, like an actual mythological warrior. And, just give Supes red boots, and you'll have easily the best possible look for him, I think. Jester Harley will always be best, but I think the military look is cooler than most modern looks for her.
It was either in Batgirl or Batwoman. Can't recall. He somehow got transformed into a more brutal version of himself.
Until my new living situation is worked out I've made a point of going to this one bar a few times a week just to get out of the house and I usually read comics or my play my 3DS while I'm there. Comics are, weirdly enough, a really good conversation starter!
the batman new 52 graphic novels. i just finished death of the family last night and the whole series so far has been incredible.
Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday. Anything good this year? I honestly look forward to the Simpsons comics quite a bit.
Here's the FCBD comics list: Free Comic Book Day - The Comics I'm shooting for the two Marvel titles, Civil War II and Captain America. Both fitting titles for Captain America: Civil War's opening weekend, lol. Might also get the DC Superhero Girls issue, which seems to be a preview of an upcoming graphic novel. Anyone who didn't buy Archie #1 by Waid and Staples when it came out should definitely get the FCBD reprint.
Been out of comics for a long while but I just downloaded some Frank Miller Daredevil that I'm excited to jump into.
Been re-reading Grant Morrison's Batman run and it's really incredible. This is the second time I've gone through it and it's amazing how interconnected it is and the scope is huge. Morrison is the only writer I can think of that would make every single story in Batman lore actually fit into continuity and the diversity of stories in the run is kind of staggering and unparalleled.
