Not really surprising, figured it'd be within the next year, but still a bummer.

Gotta remember how awful he was in major ways (like how I remembered Steve Ditko's reactionary Ayn Rand worship when he passed). Stan was AWFUL with workers' rights and would joke about that, and he also had a rough history of sexism in his creative work.

Even so... He genuinely did have as much to do with the launch of Marvel as Kirby & Ditko did. So much Stan in those characters and stories.

Gonna have to read some Lee/Romita Spidey today.

How both heartbreaking and, sadly, kinda fitting that Stan was used like this in his final years.

Scores some Marvel Masterworks collections over the weekend - Silver Surfer, Vol. 1; Fantastic Four, Vol. 34; The Avengers, Vol. 9; Captain Marvel, Vol 1. So good so far.

Lee's passing gave me the nudge to order the new printing of the Fantastic Four, Vol. 1 omnibus from work.

    Goodbye to a legend.

    So many comics legends.

The one on this list that still sucks the most is Darwyn Cooke, who was still in his prime.

It's about time we get the next two Further Reading posts together, one for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and one for Aquaman.

Spider-Verse is pretty easy, I think: recommend the original Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man run, recommend Spider-Gwen, maybe Spider-Verse. We could have more than one entry on different volumes of Miles.

Aquaman, I know the Geoff Johns run is top priority. Maybe something from Rebirth, too? Not sure what else.

And, then, one appropriate creator-owned comic per film.

    Who wants to do what?

Some arcs of Old Man Logan we’re better than others, and I didn’t hear much about Old Man Hawkeye. I’ll give it a try. I like that they made a new future shared universe if this.

Old Man Hawkeye is almost as good as OML at its best. It’s sooooo good. The most that they’ve dived into the wasteland and what happened to all the dead Avengers too.

From what I've seen, each of these kinda stands on its own. Hawkeye is in the Wastelands, Quill is in the cosmos, and Logan isn't even in that universe anymore. So, I'm guessing you, as a Marvel cosmic fan, should check out Quill regardless of what you've read before.

I will. I trade wait now. I loved Duggan’s GotG series and am still waiting for an Infinity Wars trade.

Kelly Thompson is writing a (not so chilling) Sabrina the Teenage Witch miniseries! Veronica Fish on art. Gonna be fantastic.

Such a cool creative team! Two very talented women who deserve all of the success they are getting. I'll definitely check this one out.
Looks like so far it's a five issue miniseries, but they will keep it going if it sells.

    Uncanny X-Men #11: DEVASTATION - February 2019 | News | Marvel

February's Uncanny X-Men #11 (is it going monthly after this 10-part weekly story, or still gonna be an accelerated release schedule!?) will be written by Matthew Rosenberg and illustrated by Salvador Larroca.

No other information, other than the "Devastation" story title and a cover featuring Cyclops... And, January's Uncanny X-Men Annual #1 also features Cyclops.

So, he's finally coming back? It's great having Jean Grey back after a shocking amount of time dead. And, while I don't understand what the heck is going on with Wolverine right now, getting him mostly back is also cool. And, there's also that weird way Professor X returned in Astonishing X-Men and is now in the shadows being sketchy somewhere... Wonder how close we are to all these pieces lining up into one place.

It's apparently still gonna be at least twice monthly. Wonder if this is related to whatever "Age of X-Man" is. The prospect of a Cyclops/Wolverine team up is exciting.
