honestly didn’t even know it existed until a theme park podcast I was listening to mentioned it. I’m all in on comics based on theme park rides.
I haven't been reading much of Ultimate Spider-man lately and I am slacking :( I only have like 40 issues also.
I'm stoked! Carnage was my favorite as a kid watching the cartoon. I have a feeling I will. But illI definitely let you know.
I’ve been just transitioning from a rough night schedule to school in the mornings so I haven’t had much time for anything.
I bought comics today because again if you are nice to me, I will support you in any way. I shall post when I get home.
I was just looking for anything miles but they didn’t have anything here so I decided to buy these Champions comics because they were cheap. I was trying to pay but they have a $5 limit for cards so I decided to just buy red hood and the outlaws because my friend loves that series a bunch.
I went to the local collectors expo we have and I’m trying to acquire all the champions and miles stuff.
went to the collectors expo and there was barely any champions or miles stuff besides the champions I picked up. I then went to check out that comic store on the other side of town and picked up Spider-Girls and the new Spider Gwen.
If you like Spider-Girls, go back and read Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows. There's a miniseries from 2015 by Dan Slott & Adam Kubert, and then an ongoing series that veteran writer Gerry Conway launched in 2016 w/ Ryan Stegman on art. The latter half of the series was written by Jody Houser, who's also writing that miniseries.
Never read it, never had any desire to read a long Iron Fist run. Heard it's good. He cowrote it w/ Brubaker, w/ art by Aja w/ Hollingsworth colors (but not quite as good as their Hawkeye perfection). So, fantastic creatives.
Yeah, Iron Fist has never interestes me, but the creative team is the reason I asked. I might have to check it out. I'd love more Fraction/Aja. Maybe I'll add it to my Christmas list.
The art in it is, from what I've seen, fantastic. It's just slightly less perfect than what Aja & Hollingsworth accomplished on Hawkeye. How many comics can stand against that, though? lol. I'd say it'd be worth looking into if you think you could get into Iron Fist as a character. Speaking of Aja, when his miniseries The Seeds (written by Ann Nocenti) is collected, I'm getting it ASAP. Looks great.
It is the essential Iron First series to read. Pick up the two big trades that collects it all. It’s one of the best runs in Marvel.
You don’t need to read anything else to get it either. The origin story is in it and I went into it not knowing anything about the character.
Thanks for the help guys! I finished reading Jughead and was really impressed with both the writing and Derek Charm's art, especially how he drew Sabrina. Id love a whole Sabrina series drawn by him. I'm a few issues into Maximum Carnage. It is so fun and so so 90's. What are you guys reading?
Currently reading Kingdom Come for the first time. My coworker has been raving about it, and while I really like it, I'm not yet blown away. Might be a hot take, but while I love Alex Ross's art, I feel like it contrasts with narration and word balloons oddly. I feel like the words take away from the art, which shouldn't be the case in a comic! I'd hang a painting of his any day, but reading a full graphic novel of his art is exhausting.
