read this latest arc of saga in one go last night and man, what a ride. this arc was exactly what the series needed - converging most of the major plotlines, plenty of great character moments and huge, monumental events. LATEST ISSUE SPOILERS the two deaths in back to back issues hit me REALLY hard - prince robot has been a fascinating character to watch evolve and change and i'm looking forward to seeing how his death affects squire (who was one of my personal favorite parts of this arc). and then, of course, marko. goddamn. it always felt like one of alana and marko would have to die at some point but i still didn't quite expect it yet and i didn't expect it like this. the beach scene had me emotional from the start and then when hazel's end of issue 1 narration starts again...brutal. it's going to be a long year+ wait to see how the series moves beyond this.

Death and the Maiden is easily the best Ra's al Ghul story I've ever read. Loved it. Well, everything but the art.

 

This really might become my lock screen.

 

Im still not sure how I feel about Waid ending his run in Archie.

 

Archie sort of lost steam for me for a while, so I don't mind having a new writer. It's still good, but it started off way stronger imo.

 

You excited for Archie 1941? I really liked the art in the preview.

Not yet! Recently read Vol. 1 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina though so I plan to check out more of the Archie Horror stuff.

Both Chilling and Afterlife are soooo good. I just bought Jughead The Hunger vol 1 but haven't read it yet and still need to check out Vampironica

 

Yeah I'll be checking the libraries to see which ones they have available soon. Their horror stuff seems pretty fun. Can't wait for the Sabrina Netflix show too.

 

I trade wait all my Archie stuff. Im excited to finish Waid's run, but I'm not sure how excited I am for the next run.

Have you read the Jughead series? I didn't like the first issue, so I never got into it. Does it get better?
