So happy Death and the Maidens was reprinted. Rucka is such an amazing storyteller and this book is proof of that.

 

Yeah, as much as I might not technically be the target demographic for this series (I'll be turning 30 the month the first issue comes out, lol), I'm totally gonna be putting it on my pull.

Lots of cool stuff happening with Spidey at Marvel, creatively speaking, but with their erratic publishing strategies, it'll also be nice to have an IDW monthly series with the character. Plus, being sort of a Spider Family series is fun. (Speaking of it being IDW, @Deanna, are you gonna have to talk to them about advance review copies?)

 

I might have to. After SDCC madness I’ll email the Marvel contact and ask. She sent one Spidey’s Out comixology original but not the rest so I might have to try to find an IDW contact. I’ll keep you updated!

Scott Aukerman is an inspired choice for that mojo book. will def check that out.

 

Having a new Claremont Magneto story is exciting. I'll definitely wanna read that and Emma Frost (especially w/ Bachalo art; glad to see him working again after the loss of his wife earlier this year).

Not a big fan of announcing new titles w/out the creative team. With all the X-Men stuff going on, I kinda would've preferred if they'd waited, and then had a big announcement including full creative team & roster. But, still exciting to have a new Uncanny X-Men series.

 

Saga is going on hiatus for at least a year.

 

that's a major bummer considering how fucking good this last arc has been but i can't blame them for wanting a break/time with families/time for other projects. can't wait to see how they wrap things up tomorrow.

 

Catching up on Cates & Stegman's Venom, and man... This series is so very, very good.

really though, what an issue. i read it on my lunch break at work and had to compose myself in the meeting room for a few minutes after. Fiona put on a masterclass in building tension through every single panel of this issue. I'm gonna leave it at that for now but I can't wait to talk about it when everyone in here gets caught up.

I don't know if this is a spoiler or not, it was probably announced somewhere but I loved the surprise so I'll spoil tag it just in case. Descender ended today but ASCENDER coming in 2019..Woot!

 

My thoughts on the new issue of Venom here, but seriously, guys, the series is GOOD.

They tied the symbiote race into something from Jason Aaron's Thor run, guys. And Celestials.

 

I don't mind the spoiler, but now I remembered I really like the cover of the 1st trade. It's displayed in my shelf but unopened haha so I haven't read it at all. I'll probably just wait for the last trade but I already have the first three.

 

It just keeps getting better and better. Pretty insanely epic by the end. It's definitely one that would be nice to read all the way through, I did that for most of it, I was only waiting on the endgame.

i like how this opens up the story from here though.

 

Looking at both the first and last page of the issue is such a rush of emotions. Thinking back I'm not really sure why I didn't see this ever coming with the story, maybe it's just way too depressing to even think about.

I was assuming they were going to announce they were working toward the end when they said they had an announcement last issue. So at least I'm super happy about that not being the case.
