I was trying to come up with something creepy to follow that up with, but I got nothing. Haha. The book is not an easy on to describe to people.
@Deanna Definitely read Year One first, because when you get to Zero Year in Snyder's run, it play some little homages to it and imo it's enhanced if you've first read YO.
Went out and bought the third Sunstone trade because I'm enjoying it so much. B&N didn't have the fourth so I picked up Manifest Destiny and Sex.
Is there a website that you can use to keep track of all the comics/trades you own? Something like blu-ray.com for blu-rays and discogs.com for vinyl.
I used to use one but got quickly overwhelmed. Now that I'm a bit more organized, I might try and find the site again and keep up. Can't remember the name for the life of me.
@ChiliTacos I just use a Google Sheet to keep track of what I've read. I don't own enough to really forget what I have since mine take up less than a shelf, but that might be the easiest way.
Account created! @Deanna good idea and that was my backup plan, but I like Stashmycomics, it's slick.
The only issue is that some of the newer stuff is missing. Like, they have one trade of Batman/Superman listed but I own three of them.
They are missing a bunch, but this is 90% of what I own. ecirht's Public Comic Book Stash | StashMyComics.com
@ChiliTacos @Henry I may just stick with the google sheet since I already have that going. Will be easy to add a tab for books I own and copy/paste from my read and to read lists. Nice collection you have going, though! After I get through Year One and Snyder's run, I may be starting on Grant Morrison's long run.
I happened to snag The Return of Bruce Wayne in a half off bin but that's the only one of his I have so far. I'll likely need to wait a bit before placing another big order on IST though hah. Plus, I have my hands full with all of the ones I just bought plus other comics that have sat unread on my shelf for way too long.
MY roommate talked me out of reading Sunstone at work. lol Kingdom come is a GORGEOUS book. Holy crap is it something else.
I sold off a shit ton of Comics yesterday and simultaneously closed my pull box at my local comic shop. I'm going to switch to all trades. Cheaper, takes up less space, easier to display, etc etc. I'm going to use the money I got from selling towards a big instocktrades order!
Yeah Kingdom Come is the one comic book I wish they would turn into a movie, but it's also one I know we'll never get.
I just read I Never Liked You, which was pretty fucking devastating. i would have liked it to be "more," I understand that it was minimalist but i would have loved to see more of his relationship with his schizophrenic mother in the context of his inability to communicate openly with women. that may have been influenced by Carrie & Lowell haha.
Well shit, I just finished Preacher Book 5 and this whole time I've assume there were 9 books because I saw a volume 9 but it's a different collection. Only one more book left. Sad.
