    Oh man.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read that, but I remember thinking it was an incredible send off.

And yeah, I def cried. For the longest time I had that panel...with the name carved in the tree...as my background.

Y and Ex Machina are two books I would enjoy revisiting soon.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Bendis’ Man of Steel.

Flash Wars has been a little meh. I grew up with Wally West as my Flash. Not a fan of him being depicted so...petulantly. Ah well.

Plastic Man #1 was fun. Gonna enjoy this mini.

The Terrifics 1 has a great cast and reminds me a lot of the DCU of old. Kinda goofy. But that last page got me pumped.

Y is fantastic. It's not much but my iphone's name is Yorick, and my watch is Ampersand. :concerned:

I haven't read much in the last 3 months, but off the top of my head I would say War of Jokes and Riddles.

I'm honestly loving the new Venom run. Such an interesting take on the character.

As far as new issues Monstress, Infidel, Batman, Batman White Knight are all fantastic. I read Alan Moore’s Miracleman too which pretty much blew me away. And the new trade for Southern Bastards is out which I am sooo excited about.

Yeah I love the Eldritch take. The new Hulk series has a horror feel to it too and it’s been great.

Second the Venom rec. So good.

I don't keep up with much DC, but all things Tom King are awesome.

Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows has been delightful lately. Must read for anyone who misses the Peter/MJ marriage.

And, the final Dan Slott issue of Amazing Spider-Man (#801, w/ Marcos Martin art) was an absolutely delightful standalone story that you should totally check out, regardless of if you're caught up on his run. It works as its own thing.

I really need to read Renew Your Vows. I think it's the only Spidey title I have yet to catch up on aside from that ComiXology mini that's going on now.

I'm not a big Hulk fan, but there was a double page splash in the first issue of Immortal Hulk that was incredible in print. It's just Hulk's face up close across the two pages, no border. Digitally, it's just his face. But when you're holding the comic and turn to that spread, it's like he's right there, looking you in the eyes. So claustrophobic.

I was looking at some Batman #50 pages, and... Tom King used the Porky character and location from his Batman/Elmer Fudd Special. He's officially treated that story as "canon."

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: King's Morrison-esque to Batman continuity rules. I don't care about continuity, resets, etc., as long as each story is good, but with all the massive tonal pendulum swings Batman has taken over the years (and how much I love the campier side), it's really fun seeing someone respecting it all as equal pieces of the same character.

I think Batman 50 is going to be controversial, but I think it’s stellar and wonderful and am all in on this run.

There's already been backlash all week. Which, granted, people seem more upset about the way spoilers got officially released, coupled with critiques of the comic industry's bait-and-switch marketing strategies. But, a lot of people also seem genuinely unhappy with the narrative decision.

Personally, I have full faith in King's plans. I only skimmed the issue, since I don't read his Batman in issues, but knowing that this is the midpoint of a specific big narrative he had in mind from the start, and knowing how well he handles his 12-issue runs... I'm willing to give him a pretty long leash.

I'm planning on catching up on some comics reading today. Read through Ben Reilly: The Scarlet Spider #21 this morning so I could review it. I think the series has been a fun one considering I don't know a ton about the character.

Other things on the list to read: Captain America, Immortal Hulk, Black Panther #2, Cosmic Ghost Rider, and I should probably start catching up on Batman since I stopped keeping up like 15 issues ago.

@Tim I still have some Ant-Man reading to do, too, but I should have enough read to have a blurb to you tomorrow.

Yeah, the New York Times should never spoil a major comic event so that is terrible, but I do completely agree with giving him a long leash. I’ll wait a while to talk full spoilers but I definitely think this story is just beginning.

  24. I read Batman 48-50, Catwoman 1, and then the latest Black Hammer. I'm an emotional mess in the best way. Guess now's a good time to read the latest Mister Miracle because that'll end well, right? RIGHT!?

That last page! I'm so excited to see where this goes for the next 50 issues. She has to come back.

@Jason Tate, check out Darwyn Cooke's The New Frontier, if you haven't already. I'm about halfway through it so far, and it feels like a lighter Watchmen. It's worth it for the art alone, but the shape of the plot is interesting and the superheroic beats are awesome.

The last Batman issue I had read was the double date one. But I’m all caught up now and all I really have to say right now is wow. Also read through Spencer’s Ant-Man issues that will be in the omnibus. That was a pretty fun story. I like what he did with the character.

Now to catch up on some of the new Marvel titles and then I want to read Man of Steel now that all of the issues are out. I’ll likely check out Catwoman too. Getting a lot of comics reading in today, which is nice.
