I could see @SpyKi or @Vivatoto wanting to cover Avengers: Rage of Ultron, since it's written by Rick Remender and largely illustrated by Jerome Opena. And I bet @xapplexpiex will wanna do something.
I've been going through all of Remender's work and this is on my list so yeah I can definitely do that one.
Well this is awesome news, Stranger Things is coming to comics! Cool thing is, it doesn’t sound like it will be a straight re-telling of the first season but will follow Will as he tries to survive in the upside down. Dark Horse and Netflix Announce Licensing Agreement, STRANGER THINGS Comics
I've been worried about my commission recently, not for the previous reason, but because I'm scared it's gonna be too sexy to hang up (considering my vocation of choice), lol. Side note: You wanna write the blurb for The Fix, and I'll do FF? Since the rest of the choices have been snatched by our usual suspects.
'The Maxx' Returning to Comics with Batman Crossover I know nothing about The Maxx, but this seems interesting.
I loved this book but I totally fell off after the end of the first main arc when Marcus dies. Always meant to get back into it though.
Ok so I had the exact same problem and I promise you it will turn around in the best way. Remender is one of those writers that's always like 20 steps ahead.
Encouraging to hear. That feels so long ago at this point that I feel like I should just restart from the beginning.
Ugh I only have Vol. 1 and I really liked it but just haven't been spending money on comics (or much else) lately.
Remender's work feels super calculated, like a climatic moment is always in sight but then you find out that all those were just small pieces on a much larger chess board and he's been quietly building an epic while you were looking the other way. They almost always get better with time, and in some cases with like Fear Agent, where I wasn't totally digging the place it started at, I was completely enthralled by the end. I love it when it feels like a writer is always working towards an endgame even if it's years and years away.
I can't wait to read more of it. I should have at least some sort of part time job/pay soon and I won't be surprised if my first check goes to a chunk of comics that I don't have room for haha.
