I remember there being a large amount of IDW and Dark Horse stuff but very little of the main 3, it's that still the case? Also side note. Does your library/you use Overdrive and/or Hoopla? There's alot of graphic novels and some single issues on those too if you're interested.
Yeah nothing really from the main 3, which is okay with me since they have a lot of that in their physical copy selection. Plus it makes me branch out to IDW, Boom, Archie, etc. occasionally. As far as I know, that’s the only app my library card gives me access to, but I’ll ask them about those others you mentioned.
I'd suspect Overdrive probably, but it sounds like Hoopla can be expensive. I'm in Houston and they just cut our # of items from 8/month to 2 because of costs. Also, Holy shit you're in Celina?! I'm from Jacksboro and we always hated your football team growing up eventhough we'd very rarely even play you guys(we were 2A-3A depending on the year).
I finished reading Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire and loved it. How cool was that Goku-looking dude with the giant sword?
I know Jacksboro, haha we moved to Celina after college looking for a small town where we could put down roots. But I know all about the storied football history and take the family to a few games every fall. Unfortunately suburban sprawl is starting to take ahold of some of these great small Texas towns. But, comics related...God Country and Southern Bastards? Haha
Lol I know, right! I also loved seeing Rachle Grey. I wish she was in more before the current X book. What’s next?
Oh for sure! Pretty soon even as far out as Jacksboro(and beyond) is just gonna be a suburb of DFW. It's already happening around Austin, San Antonio and Houston. Pretty freaking crazy! I've actually read a few volumes of Southern Bastards was really good, need to finish it. I think @dadbolt told me about that one. Haven't heard anything about God Country except seeing the cover, what's that about?
God Country is one of the best books of the last couple of years, read it Colbster. It's about a mentally ill man who gets a cool sword and fights gods. I don't really want to say too much about it bc it's really good. always weird to see other small town texas folks around the forums also hi comics gang long time no see
Only pickups this week for me will be Barrier #3 and Sonic the Hedgehog 1. Doomsday Clock isn’t back til May 30th. Having a tough time tracking down a release date for ASM 800. Anybody have a good idea when that issue is out?
Ok, this is Deadpool 2 week, and I've done a bad job of getting the "Further Reading" thing together, lol. If you've read any Deadpool stories you wanna recommend for the post, reply to this post with the one you wanna talk about. If you wanna just give a super brief description, or even just show a comic page/panel as your recommendation (@Henry, this means even you can participate!), that's cool, given the nature of Deadpool as a character. @Deanna, maybe you could do Spider-Man/Deadpool vol. 1, since you've already read that not too long ago? @xapplexpiex, was there a specific volume of Duggan's run you especially wanted to include?
Vol 3 is my favorite and can be read by itself. I’ll do that, if you don’t mind it not being a vol 1.
