Ohhh man. If this is my sketch I'm gonna be so stoked. I think she might be giving me a bit of extra effort since its already like two months late. lol
Yes, but the comic is much better (not that the cartoon is necessarily bad). The art alone is fantastic. If you dug Aja's art style in Fraction and wanna see something similar applied to a grounded 80s crime story that just happens to tell Batman's origin, you'll love Mazzucchelli's art in Year One. I bought a June commission from her. Asked for either Invisible Woman or Spider-Woman. Super excited for that. (I also happen to be wearing my Babs Tarr Batgirl shirt today.)
I made sure not to give her options. Haha. I'm not a big fan of artists making it up to them. If she was going to pass on what I wanted, I would have just asked for a refund. I feel like that is fair. I'm thinking my next commission might be Jim Mahfood. His arts style is unreal and I think he could do a killer Baal.
I read Year One when I was first getting into DC cause I kept hearing good things. I thought it was ok. Maybe I’ll reread it eventually :P
Arkham Asylum by Grant Morrison is a masterpiece and a stand-alone graphic novel. It’s a bit much though and not a typical Batman book.
True. Batman encountered his rogue gallery in Arkham...and that was pretty much it. But the symbolism, writing, and Dave McKean art are stellar.
Maybe i just didn't understand it at the time but I read it and was just like "That's it?! What did i just read?"
Yesterday was pretty good. Snagged Barrier 2, Venom 1, No Justice 1, and Adamantium Agenda 1. Next week should be even better though with Quicksilver No Surrender and Avengers 2. Have yet to read anything I got yesterday but I’m nervous about Venom. Hope it’s good.
I tried to get in on Venom during the recent Venomverse and it didn't stick but I really dug the first issue of the new series. I'll be picking it up for the time being. It can replace Old Man Logan for my Marvel pick ups.
I totally meant that Venomized was what I read through hahaha. Considering I can't even keep them straight, I think that says enough.
I just happened to find some Megaman comics on my library app, and now I can’t stop reading. Talk about silly nostalgic fun.
