Has anyone ever checked out this podcast? FanBrosShow ? Comics podcast that focuses on diverse characters and authors, and underrepresented groups (comics written by and featuring POCs, women, LGBTQ+) specifically speaking to an audience that isn't "comic book nerds" ie people who are less familiar with comics ^ where to start. I work in advertising and I've recently started working in the comic book industry, and got connected with these guys, but I started listening, and it's been a really awesome resource for getting learned on new/interesting titles.
I really liked Bendis' story in Action Comics 1000, excited as hell for his run. The villain looks great too.
That was the number 1 thing I thought upon seeing that cover. I looooved how Ribic drew Reed during Secret Wars. Really Reed with the beard in general was always a really good look for him I thought, from Time Runs Out onwards.
Agreed, I love the way they presented it. They also had a pretty beautiful closing to their run over in the main Superman book. King and Snyder were also good, as expected. And I just adore the look of Mann's Superman
I did a massive catch-up for Saga. I had previously left off at issue 19 and read through issue 49. What a great read. I think I'll do a read through of Y and Ex Machina sometime in the near future. Next, I'll try to get up to date on Deadly Class, East of West, Black Science, and Low. Should be about 5ish or so issues behind on each.
I’m doing something similar. A few weeks ago I read vols 1-6 of Deadly Class. I read 1-8 of Saga last week. Good stuff.
I had read the first 3 volumes of Saga and stopped there for whatever reason. I was enjoying it, just kinda forgot about it. I just picked up the next 2 trades at the library and am ready to get back to it.
I have found myself on a Greg Rucka kick. Old Guard 1-5 was really good. And now I am 2 issues in on Lazarus, which has been fantastic. Love how much world building has already happened in just two issues. Also Black Magick is good, Nicola Scott's art is fire.
Yes! Lazarus is great. It stopped for a while, had a limited series, then just recently picked back up. I met Nicola Scott at a con by me and had her sign my Wonder Woman Rebirth grade. She’s such a nice person.
Yes, you did. And as usual, it was long. lol. I think I'm gonna leave it as is, other than tweaking the bit about Hickman's work leading into Infinity so that I can organically fit in some links to those trades.
I tried really hard! Those Hickman stories are fucking filled to the brim with ideas. It is ridiculous. I have read all of this shit before and my re-read of Infinity took forever because I kept having to look stuff up.
