Do you know how many volumes there are? Been meaning to get that but I can’t seem to find Vol 1, so I get worried I might not get everything
There are 4 volumes, or 2 oversized hardcovers, or 1 omnibus. You can actually find the omnibus at a surprisingly decent price on eBay. I'd suggest you browse InStockTrades, eBay, and Amazon for the different formats and make a decision based on price and availability.
I pretty much just get money and gift cards instead of actual gifts so I might make an IST order in the near future. But I did do some Christmas reading! Read Batman: Life After Death and the first issue in the Flash book by Grant Morrison and Mark Millar. Hope everyone has been enjoying the holidays!
That’s pretty manageable. Not from a country that has those options, but what you said helps. Thanks. Can’t wait to read it.
CBR has been positing that the Red Goblin in next year's Amazing Spider-Man story "Go Down Swinging," which ends in ASM #800 and sounds like it could be Dan Slott's final story in his decade of work on the series, could be Mephisto, or at least connected to him. And, by extension, they've been positing that something could happen to reverse the effects of One More Day. CBR is super click-bait-y and doesn't have a remotely good track record with their weird theories. But, this sounds good enough to me for me to buy into it, even though part of my brain tells me they absolutely won't let that happen. Come on, Marvel! You have Miles Morales in 616! Let 616 Peter and MJ start a family together! lol.
I haven’t read White Sand yet, though I bought it last week. The other two are good. You will not be disappointed.
Loaded up my cart on IST with exactly $50 worth of comics, but now I'm just sitting here and staring at it. Four trades would be to complete the Grant Morrison run on Batman since I still need Batman and Son, Time and the Batman, and volumes 2 and 3 of Batman and Robin. Fifth trade I tossed in is Superman: Birthright. I shouldn't feel guilty for wanting to spend my birthday/Christmas money, but for some reason I do haha.
Ava being a big Big Barda fan makes me pretty happy. I tend to advocate for her directing a Superman film for Golden Age street level/justice reasons, but now I just wonder what she could do with the Fourth World. (Thank goodness Darkseid was cut from JL so that there is still a chance for the Fourth World outside of Steppenwolf to have Thor: Ragnarok-level Kirby worship.)
And @Deanna, do it. Morrison's Batman & Robin is a ton of fun. I'm halfway through it and plan on possibly finishing it today. And, Waid's Superman is good (though I think Johns' take on Superman's origin is my favorite).
One reading list I found included The Resurrection of Ra's al Ghul and Batman: Battle for the Cowl (by Tony S. Daniel). I'll probably go hit order on them now, but I'll be skipping these two trades because they don't feel super crucial.
@Tim IST order has been placed. In other news, finished up The Flash by Grant Morrison and Mark Millar. Enjoyed it a good amount. Certainly some interesting Wally West stories in there. I'm still going by a list of what to read so Fire by Brian Michael Bendis is up next. Maybe I'll get through several more trades before my IST order arrives and then I'll just make my way through Morrison's Batman.
Read last week's Marvel Two-in-One #1 by Zdarsky and Cheung. Loved it every bit as much as I expected to. Anyone who digs F4 and hasn't checked it out yet needs to. This week's issue of Doomsday Clock wasn't as good to me as the first issue was, but seeing Ozymandias jump earths and both Bruce and Lex get brought into the mix was fun. I imagine things will heat up a little next month. The last issue of Spider-Men II was cool. Sara Pichelli continues to be a top tier all time Spidey artist, who hopefully will still do Spidey work once Bendis is at DC. The story for this miniseries was weirdly paced, but it produced some cool moments, especially that little Bagley portion of this issue. Gonna organize all my pull stuff I still need to read so I can knock some of that out over the next week, and then jump back into Batman & Robin by Morrison.
Hawkman Found was kind of a bullshit filler, but its whatever. I kinda loved Doomsday Clock. Marionette and The Mime seems like they'll be fun going forward. Why in the hell is Phoenix Resurrection a weekly? That's insane. I liked the first issue, even though I have no clue what is going on with some of these characters. lol Baby Teeth is such a fucking cool book. Really love the direction it is headed in.
