Getting pretty emotional over Iceman and Generation X being cancelled.

On a positive note, I got my Batgirl shirt from Babs Tarr. Love it.

Curious to see how Gwenpool is integrated into the universe. She seemed to be popular enough to have this long a run.

You mean after the cancellation, or during this 25 issue run?

Reading War of Jokes and Riddles, I think it was issue 27 but there was a part where I flipped one page back and forth just to check if I was missing a page, but then I realized what happened and laughed out loud.

The panel was Charles Brown aka Kite Man in the bar not knowing Batman is behind him. And off panel the assumption is that Charles tells Bats about his secret meeting with Joker (that Riddler also knew and was planning to sabotage) because the next panel was immediately the aftermath of that meeting, with Batman fighting off Riddler, Solomon and Scarecrow in the background, and finally Joker dragging Charles and with one speech balloon. "Good grief"

Just the thought of Joker intending to just have a small meeting with Charles Brown and it ending up in a catastrophe fighting off both bats and riddler is hilarious

Batman and Superman's double date was a whole lot of fun. Metal is starting to lose me.

This final arc of Invincible has been great, then all of a sudden the penultimate issue is super boring and there's barely a final conflict set up. Weird choice. I like going into the final issue super excited. Off the top of my head the second to last issue of Nailbiter was perfect.

I've been thinking it for a little bit, this new Batman issue really cements it, I'm pretty sure Tom King is my favorite comic book writer at this point.

I had to help my house mate get to a flight 2 hrs away (it was a lot cheaper than the nearby airport), so I decided to work into my return trip a visit to some Half Price Books way out of my normal area. The one I found had cool selection, but not much that I wanted, but I still found a way to spend moneys 'cause of course.

Ended up leaving with the 4 trades of Peter David's original 90s X-Factor run, plus The Silver Age World's Finest vol 1. Fun to have 300+ pages of 50s Superman/Batman/Robin team up art all penciled by either Dick Sprang or Curt Swan. And, fun to have some 90s mutant adventures.

Laura's little clone sister, Gabby, having the code name "Honey Badger" is too cute and perfect.

I still haven't decided if I'm gonna pull this or not when it starts next year, since I've trade-waited some better-looking X-titles. But, since I could use some more X-Men in my life and have been pulling All-New Wolverine from the start, I feel like I might as well grab this new series with that one's two main characters and writer.

Dropped Gold and with the two books being cancelled, I’ll have enough room for the new round of X-books. I really like the team for Red, and with either Gambit/Rogue being involved too, it will be a good mix of favorites and under appreciated characters. I could do without Namor, though.

Phoenix Resurrection spoilers are out there, and I don’t know what to believe anymore!!

Speaking of Rogue and Gambit, I'm trade-waiting that miniseries, but it's the X-title I'm most pumped for right now. Kelly Thompson is fantastic, and she loves these characters, and I love these characters. So, it's perfect, lol.

Don't you be dissing Namor! I don't have much exposure to him outside of Hickman's New Avengers, but he was pretty great in it. I'd rather the douche role be fulfilled by Emma Frost, but Marvel seems to unfortunately still be using her somewhat villainously, so guess that can't happen right now.

Besides Red, I might pull that New Mutants miniseries, especially since I just love collecting comics where Karma plays a prominent role (which I guess she will here, just not in the field team). She's maybe my favorite non-A-list X-Man.

Might be a dumb question because comic book characters never really die but didn’t Nightcrawler die? When did he come back?

All this Tom King talk, I remembered I haven’t read the latest Miracle Man issue from a few weeks ago.

Should be a good Christmas treat. Batman Rebirth is very good but, damn, I think Vision might be my favorite work of his so far.

During Jason Aaron’s Amazing X-Men run. His father was trying to steal souls from heaven, so he used the bamfs to transport his friends there. In the end, he sold his soul and he is forever bound to the Earth. There was an average Claremont book back in 2014.

Wrapped my gifts with DC Superhero Girls wrapping paper, and some of the contents are comic-book-y, too.

Got my younger sister Legend of Wonder Woman, All-New Wolverine vol 1, and Pretty Deadly vol 1. Pretty Deadly is a risk 'cause I don't think she'll dig the sex, but I asked her if a good comic with that kinda content would ruin it, and she seemed receptive. I hope she likes it. She's into Miyazaki/Ghibli and dug Logan, so there's a good chance!

Then, I got my older brother the Geof Darrow hardcover pencil art book, which I think he'll love, since he's an artist who really digs Darrow. Also got him Darkhawk Classic vol 1, since he has nostalgia for the character. I got his 7-yr-old son some Black Panther and Scarlet Spider Legos, and his 4-yr-old son a 2-ft-tall plush Hulkbuster.

Love giving the gift of comics. He's hoping my family felt the same way for me! ;-)

My brother got me the Fraction Hawkeye omnibus. Man, flipping through this thing, I forgot how literally perfect this series is. Probably my literal favorite comic book series of all time that isn't Spider-Man. All this art by David Aja, Annie Wu, and more, with immaculate Matt Hollingsworth colors, is incredible. Now that I have the omnibus, I need to reread this whole thing in one day.

Also got Fantastic Four: Dark Reign trade. And, the Batman vs Two-Face Bluray and a Batman 66 figure. And, Atomic Blonde and Rogue One on Bluray. (Also a couple Christian books and other stuff y'all wouldn't care about, lol.) Good Christmas all around.

Happy Holidays, everyone! Hope you got good stuff and had good times with good people!
