I’m new to the single issue comic scene. What are the odds we’ll see a TPB for Doomsday Clock sometime in 2018?

    It won’t happen.

It’s a 12 issue series, which means the last issue won’t come out until November 2018 (assuming no delays).

Spring 2019 is the earliest you can expect any sort of HC.

Gurihiru does some pretty art. They are, frankly, probably the only reason Marvel's shark-jumping Gwenpool series is a total delight instead of a total drag, lol. Such charming personality.

Sweet, thanks for answering! Looks like I’ll have to make use of my local comic shop for a year then :)

Finished up Punisher War Journal last night. I liked a good chunk of it. It started out strong for me with the Civil war tie-ins since Frank Was trying to stay out of it. Found his relationship with Cap interesting, though.

Next up: Bizarro by Heath Corson

I'm not normally a huge fan of annuals, I wasn't exactly expecting too much from the Batman annual and it started simple enough but omg I feel like a steam roller ran over me. One of the best issues in King's whole damn run. It very much felt like his final issue.

I'm reading the latest trade tonight and came upon this page. I love this book.

This whole thing is so wild. The tough thing to see is that he did genuinely do a ton of good work in bringing in creators of Asian decent and the like into the industry. Which, obviously doing good doesn't cover up doing something this blatantly awful, but seeing testimonies from people like Christina Strain, Amy Chu, and J. Torres on Twitter makes this extra hard and complicated to see.

I'd be a lot more understanding if CB Cebulski made a proper public apology for what he did that acknowledged the racial baggage of his actions and the harm and betrayal people justifiably feel. If he was paid for his work under his pen name, he should also surrender that money to a good cause. Considering how long ago this was and how much global work he's been doing since then, a good response would help me believe that he understands the gravity of what he did and has come a long way from that. But, all of the responses have been very bare minimum, as comic industry responses always are.

Worse yet, Marvel's Sana Amanat (who I generally greatly respect) had an interview where she gave a pretty thorough defense of CB, which feels super weird. Amy Chu's response feels pretty sincere, since she doesn't even work for Marvel, but with Axel Alonso being let go recently without warning, I can't tell how I should take Sana's comments. It's all so messy and frustrating and depressing.

Read Bizarro and it was a fun read. Led me to an idea about a 2 episode Bizarro arc on Supergirl.

    Next up: Descender Vol. 1

Making a reading order list was clearly a good idea. I don't have to think about what to read next now every time I finish something up, which is nice because I'm so damn indecisive sometimes haha.

This is such a weird take on New Mutants, but I've heard that Rosenberg really gets the X-Men, and my fav Karma is supposed to be a big part of this miniseries in spite of not being on the cover. So, I guess I'll have to give this a shot.

Descender Vol. 1 was very good. Whenever I manage to convince someone to hire me again I’ll have to buy the rest that are out so far.

@Tim have you been enjoying any of the current X-Men comics? I saw that Blue and Gold started hitting Marvel Unlimited a little while ago so I’m curious what’s worth adding to my already massive library in there.

The only X-book on my pull is All-New Wolverine.

Gold & Blue are both twice-monthly, which sucks when you're poor and managing a pull list, lol. If it were monthly, I'd be pulling Blue. I read the first 4 or 5 issues and liked it a lot. If you're reading on MU, I definitely recommend checking that one out.

I don't have them on my pull, but Jean Grey, Iceman, and Astonishing X-Men seem really worth checking out as they end up on MU.

Yeah I’ve been keeping up with All-New (as you know from our podcast on the first trade hah). I’ll definitely check out Blue and look for the others. Still making my way through that reading order list I wrote up for myself though. Next up is Kill or Be Killed Vol. 1.

Blue ( I'm getting a bit tired of it lately, had the best moments of Mojoverse tho), Iceman (makes me cry), Jean Grey (Hopeless is so good at writing her), Astonishing X-Men (classic x-men), and Generation X (deserves more readers) are all worth checking out. All New Wolverine was on my pull list, but having twice monthly books can quite exhausting financially. X-Books are the only thing I'm picking up these days. Add in the Jean Grey mini series, Red, Gambit & Rogue mini, New Mutants mini, potential Storm book, damn I'm going to be broke.

    Ignore Gold and Guggenheim.

Also the latest Jean Grey issue is finally getting Emma Frost back on track. For the first time since in a while it actually feels like her.

Big thanks to everyone that recommended Hickman's Avengers run (especially @Tim for all the help on what to read). I finished Secret Wars and I absolutely adored it. The entire run is everything that I love about comics.

It only gets better and better and might be the best representation of a fantasy world I've read in comics. I added it to my pull before I even picked up book 2. It's Tolkien, Martin, Sanderson, etc worthy.

When I finished reading the last issue of Secret Wars the first time, I immediately re-read it, which I never do. That final Reed vs Doom confrontation was so fulfilling, and that final page was such a satisfying, perfect ending. Everything lives.
