I don't know that I'd want to see Bendis write Wonder Woman just because I want a woman on that book. Apparently the current arc by James Robinson is about her brother or something, and man, I just have no interest in that nonsense. Wish they'd just make it monthly and bring back Renae De Liz or recruit Marguerite Bennett.

The more I think about it, the more I love the idea of Bendis and David Marquez (who I'd hate to see leave Marvel but love to see working with Bendis) tackling Trinity long-term. Could be awesome.

 

I'd love it if there were a woman writing WW. That storyline sounds like it stinks. Marjorie Liu is my choice. Monstress has been awesome and shows that she can tell a pretty epic story.

Bennett would be an awesome choice as well. It feels like they've been grooming her to take on bigger books as of late. I think that WW would be perfect to cap that off.

What's Gail been up to lately other that starting shit on Facebook? lol

 

Is Gail still writing Clean Room? I never read it, but it's the last thing I recall seeing from her.

Oh, yeah, Marjorie Liu would be fantastic. I don't know if she's done licensed work recently, but I'd totally check that out if it happened.

I know Gail has an Image book right now, as well as that Wonder Woman/Conan miniseries. I was bummed that she wasn't on any Rebirth titles and also hoped Marvel would convince her to do something (preferably in the X-Men world), but she seems comfortable doing whatever random miscellaneous things she wants.

 

Gotcha. It's on my never-ending list of things to read, just haven't gotten to it yet. (Story of my life.)

Bennett is on Batwoman right now, which is monthly, so idk if she'd also take on WW since it's twice a month. But I'm all for more women in comics in general so just give them all something to do.

 

Gail is literally in the middle of a Wonder Woman comic right now (WW Vs Conan) and its great. Also Crosswind is incredible.

 

Also the current WW arc is pretty good so far, it's mainly about Grail, Darkseid's daughter and they're making her into a crazy awesome villain. It's better than the logline makes it seem, I don't think they're creating a Wonder-"Man" or anything, he's been in like a page or two so far and I'm pretty sure it's just going to be Diana protecting him, since Grail is trying to kill him.

Cool. I still like my idea of him doing something like Trinity with Bendis, but I also am ecstatic about him staying at Marvel. Wonder if he'll stick with Defenders with whatever new writer, or go to something else. He really deserves a strong, high profile series.

Hickman Teases DC Deal in Wake of Bendis Announcement

 

I mean, that's really not confirmed yet. He did meet with Jim Lee earlier this year, so it wouldn't surprise me if he did something there, but it's early to be making any sort of assumptions.

Still, if they do get Hickman to write something (even though I can't picture him ever signing an exclusive contract at this point), that and whatever Bendis does will appeal to me more than the vast majority of Rebirth's launches, lol.

Lots of relief only spending 30$ on new releases this week.

I had all DC comics and Jessica Jones and the owner says "bet you're happy about the news"

 

Batman Lost was excellent. Ties together Metal and Morrison's run pretty nicely. Barbatos is becoming a next level villain for me.

 

Wasn't gonna pick up Moon Knight until I saw Bemis is writing it. Crazy writing crazy works for me.

 

Eddie Berganza has been a creep for years. It is shameful that DC has not done more.


At DC Comics, An Editor Rose Through The Ranks Even After Being Accused Of Sexual Harassment

 

I hope this wave of attention to victims' stories causes the dam to break in the comics industry. I want all these abusers outed, and then out of the industry, even if I lose some favorite creators in the process. Let this be what finally opens up the Big 2 to a massive wave of new women creators and readers on high profile properties.

 

And on a lighter note...



...this new X-Men series written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by Mahmud Asrar looks pretty cool.
