Mother Panic spoiler So if she's a killer now I really hope we get a confrontation between her and the bat-family.

How many books are you thinking?

Johns’ v1 is a must. Maybe Death of Superman? Morrison’s JLA because of the big 7. And then what? Kingdom Come? New Frontier? It gets a little wonky because I’m not even sure what the plot is for this movie.

We usually shoot for 5 books. We might've had 6 one time, but I think we always have at least 5.

From my limited DC knowledge, I really like the Johns vol 1, Morrison vol 1, Kingdom Come, and New Frontier recommendations. So if those interest specific people, that's 4 out of 5. (I kinda wanna call dibs on New Frontier 'cause it's such a masterpiece, lol; I really miss Darwyn Cooke.)

I'm not so sure about Death of Superman personally. Maybe the 5th book could be JLA: A League of One? Not sure if you've read that graphic novel before, but it's one of the few Justice League stories I've read myself, and it's one I'm quite fond of. I love that it's all about Wonder Woman defeating everyone else on the team so that she can fight a dragon by herself, lol.

We are only TWO AND A HALF WEEKS away from JUSTICE LEAGUE coming out and still need to get the FURTHER READING stuff finalized!

The books we have picked out to choose from are currently:

    - Justice League New 52 by Geoff Johns vol. 1
    - JLA by Grant Morrison vol. 1
    - New Frontier
    - Kingdom Come
    - JLA: A League of One

@scottlechowicz, @Vivatoto, @Deanna, @dadbolt, @Colby Searcy, @Dodge725, @SpyKi, @Jason Tate, @BackyardHero11, @xapplexpiex, @EarlyMorningRiser (I literally just started tagging anyone who's posted on the past couple pages, lol)... Any of you want to do a short blurb for any of these? OR, any other Justice League-related comics you've read and want to include?

I'm willing to do one, so if I do, we just need 4 people to get to our target of 5 recommendations. (But, we can also do more if enough people want to participate!) This will be a relatively quick turnaround, as I'd ideally want the short blurbs turned in to me by two weeks from today, though as long as I get everything by Wednesday night 11/15 or first thing Thursday morning 11/16, that'll work.

If you're down and have interest in more than one, let me know all options you're interested in (feel free to rank 'em if you have a clear top choice) so that, if people are interested in the same ones, we can easily match up each user to one book.

If you have interest but haven't been part of one of these and have any questions, let me know!

    Thanks!

Also, reminder to @Henry to get me the Unworthy Thor blurb for Thor: Ragnarok, which comes out this week!

@Tim I have very few JL comics, but I do have Kingdom Come so I can do a blurb on that. I also have Death of Superman if that would be of interest to cover.

Hey I'd be happy to do a write up on New Frontier, I've got a beautiful absolute edition of it.

That sounds fantastic. I've never had the urge to get an Absolute Edition of something, but if I had the money, New Frontier would be an exception. So gorgeous.

Anyways, you've got it. Thanks! 3 recs down, minimum 1 (excluding me) to go!

Oh man, Absolutes are awesome. I own several haha. Those were all pre-marriage. I suppose if I wanted to buy one now the conversation would not go my way haha

@Tim I can do any JL. Maybe Rock of Ages? Which is part of Morrisons run. I haven't read a league of one and I wouldn't mind picking it up.

Ha, nice. Yeah, I'm just poor and not willing to pay that much for that little story, even if it's packaged in a fantastic format. When splurging for a pricier hardcover, I prefer getting an omnibus because getting that much continuous story in one hardcover tome is sweet.

If I had enough expendable income, though, after going wild on buying even more Spidey stuff, I'd totally get my three favorite DC masterpieces in Absolute format: New Frontier, All-Star Superman, and Batman: Year One.

Speaking of DC hardcover formats, have you gotten any of those Batman Noir collections? I know we're united in not getting that excited about Batman as a character, but I've been very tempted to get a couple of 'em eventually. I don't have Black Mirror yet and think the Francavilla and Jock art would look fantastic in that format. I'm also shocked that they're releasing the nonsense that is Dark Knight Strikes Again in that format but still weirdly tempted to see how that reads without that infamously horrific coloring, lol.

I like the idea of including a range of stuff, and @scottlechowicz is already doing Morrison's JLA vol. 1, so instead of another Morrison volume, how about you do JLA: A League of One. I could see you digging it, with the fantasy angle and the painted artwork. And, I apparently did a great job of guessing what Thor comic you'd dig, lol.

Sweet, sounds good. Mainly mentioned Rock of Ages because I wanted a reason to read it again, ha. I've been meaning to read League of One though so it works out perfect. And yeah, all the Thor reading I've been doing made me really want to read a Ragnarok story so that couldn't have been more perfect.

So, anyone without an assignment want to do Geoff Johns and Jim Lee's New 52 Justice League Vol. 1: Origin? I've read it before and am happy to do it myself, but I'm also happy to let a 5th person who isn't me jump on that one.

Mine was just tucked inside the flap of the box. It wasn't secured or anything. I'm double check that.

Good call, found it! Turns out they taped it to one of the inside flaps, just not on the side I opened it. Literally would never have noticed, haha. couldn't tell it was there until I took the whole box apart just to be sure. Thanks!
