ohhh so that opens up my other problem with DC trades, their release schedules are insane. I'd totally buy those soft cover trades of the Flash, but they release them sooooo slowly that their is no point in me buying them right now. Vol 3 is slated for November 1st. why? It makes no sense. They do not make it easy to follow a series via trades. I had to wait almost an entire year to get vol 2 of gotham academy. Annoys the hell out of me.
I have all the issues of John's GL run and have been meaning to bind them all together into a series of Hard Covers because I figure that will be cheaper than buying their Omnibuses ahaha.
I think they've been getting better about that. They've released all of the Secret Six books about three months apart. Marvel is the real offender as of late. Waiting six months for the second Inferno trade is whack.
What I'll be reading this week (and reviewing): Paper Girls Vol. 1, Green Lantern Corps Vol. 1: Lost Army, and Superman Vol. 1: Before Truth. Really stoked for Paper Girls, I've heard nothing but good things about it.
You mean Crisis on Infinite Earths from the 80s. It's pretty easy to find in trade and the issues aren't all that rare either. Infinite Crisis and Final Crisis should be easy to find in trade.
Pretty Deadly #9 came out today, and I hate that after one more issue, this will be gone for however long. Emma Rios' work in this arc is the best I've seen from her, which is high praise.
Definitely requires a lot of patience, lol, but I think it's very worth it. When #10 comes out, I may re-read 1-9 in one sitting before reading it, if I have time.
Love this comic and the art. Decided to wait until whenever the trade comes out in an effort to save money, but with every release it gets harder and harder to fight it.
Never heard of Pretty Deadly before, but that one instagram of the art sold me. Defiantly will pick that trade up when it comes out.
The first trade is already out 'cause the first arc happened a while ago, if any of you don't know: Pretty Deadly TP Vol 01 (MR)
Gonna pick up Pretty Deadly. IG post sold me too. Can someone break this down for me cause I must be dumb. What are Pull lists? I'm using League of Comic Geeks to keep track of books and I don't really understand the pull list thing.
It's the list you plan on buying for the week. A lot of shops will put them aside so that you can walk in, they hand you a bag, and you are on your way.
Within the next month or so the local shop i used to frequent when i bought comics will be having the following comic book writers/artists doing a signing: -Amy Chu -David Walker -Alitha Martinez -Gene Luen Yang I don't have the time or money to go to either of these 2 but man is that all kinds of awesome.
New review up now. Should have a couple more between now and early next week. Review: ‘Paper Girls Vol. 1’ by Brian K. Vaughan
