Read Daughters of the Dragon last night and still trying to figure out how I feel about it haha. I like the idea of a Colleen/Misty team up, but wasn't a huge fan of the art. Felt like they were like "Hey! These ladies have boobs!"
Decided to wait for the Generations collection 'cause the hardcover on IST will be roughly the same price as me just buying the issues I want most as they come out. But, the most tempting exception has to be this issue by a strong creative team of Jason Aaron, Mahmud Asrar, and Jordie Bellaire, where classic and modern Thor team up to battle Apocalypse in ancient Egypt.
Hawkeye? Yes. It's fantastic. It, Silver Surfer, and Spectacular Spider-Man are always the first comics I read after getting my pull. Kelly Thompson's writing is wonderful and perfect for Kate Bishop, and the art is just delightful. I've been thinking about hunting down that miniseries, lol. Definitely looks like a classic mainstream comic about women by men, unfortunately, but looks like a fun story underneath that nonsense. Did you dig the story?
I think they did have a good story there. They run a bail bonds company so they're frequently dealing with all sorts of villains. But yeah, quite a bit of nonsense art wise and with parts of the story for sure.
Really excited for that one. Waiting has been hard, lol, but I'll long-term like saving that money for a sexy hardcover for my shelf.
finally caught up on all my monthlies in time for a Wednesday of new comics! haha, been so behind. yesterday was able to sit down and read the first two arcs of the James Bond comics starting with Vargr. both awesome. looking forward to reading Hammerhead next, might read the Felix arc first.
Honestly, that's what I'm thinking of doing too because owning them would be dope. Hopefully some bonus features too!
I'm assuming the last issue of Secret Empire is gonna have some random moment where the Cosmic Cube briefly envelopes these characters or something. But honestly, I don't care, lol. Marvel's decision to release these before the explanation is weird, but I also kinda love that it's all just like, "Hey, these characters are meeting past iterations because reasons; just go with it and enjoy the ride!"
That makes sense, I guess. lol. The Wolverine one was great. The Thor one was a nice throwback to the God of Thunder story. I'll probably read the two Cap/Ms Marvel books and leave it at that.
Finished Scalped. 10/10, loved it. Only got better as it goes along including a perfect ending. A new favorite. Dash is one of the better protagonists like ever. Figure I should go to Aaron's Thor run next.
Read Green Arrow: Year One yesterday. Finally going to start making a dent in the trades I own and haven't read. It's quite a long list so I have no clue what I'll end up reading next.
Needs some Batman Have always been interested in this and the novel but haven't been able to find all of it at a library
Guys the Clue comic is so great and y'all should read it. Also I plan to read the new Miles Morales novel very soon
I do want to read some Batman stuff, I figured I'd pick stuff I could get for free through amazon and what I could get on Marvel Unlimited first. I have added the 2011 Batman to my comixology wishlist to read at somepoint though
I caved and just bought Vol 1 and 2 of this, definitely got enough stuff to keep me busy for a while now. Thanks again for everyone's advice earlier in the week.
I just read that recently after picking it up at Half Price Books like three years ago haha. Thought it was real solid.
Is the Jean Grey series good? I picked up #5 because I loved the cover art and it was a pretty fun read too. Wondering how the previous issues are.
Yeah, I really enjoyed it! I keep looking over at my shelf and can't decide what to read next still haha.
It's really good! The art alone is worth it, but it's super fun. Hopeless is quickly becoming one of my new favorites!
