Stephanie Brown Batgirl trade out next week. Looking forward to reading that. I've enjoyed all of the Batgirl runs I've read so far.
Hate this. Stop with the playful Harley and Joker romance, DC. The character is so much better as someone who has completely rejected Joker and left that abusive relationship behind. *sigh*
This is true. I'm mostly just going to see how it is. I think I find Harley more interesting when she's not attached to the Joker. Which is probably why I enjoyed Gotham City Sirens quite a bit.
Btw, I'm starting a newsletter and trying to figure out a name. I think some of you here will dig some of the options in my Twitter poll.
The Dini back ups have been the saving grace to the dreadfully boring Harley Quinn main title. They're flashbacks so thankfully Harley hasn't "returned" to Joker. Dini fucks with their relationship a bit, Harley manipulates him a good amount too.
Ah this does sound a little more interesting then. Do you think those will be collected into their own trade later?
Oh yeah, you do haha. I'll make note of your vote, though! I'm only doing the poll for 8 hours so I can get working on the first issue tomorrow. I'm thinking Friday's for sending it so it can be like a "things to check out this weekend" newsletter.
No idea but they'd be smart too. From what I've read in other reviews it seems to be the reason a lot of people are sticking with the title.
I'm now caught up on Secret Empire. The new issue is really great. I've found this event to be pretty damn exciting. (I'm only reading the main event, all of Steve Rogers, 25 from Sam Wilson, and all of Doctor Strange)
I'm easily more excited to read Mister Miracle than anything else DC besides Doomsday Clock, but even with that excitement, I think I'm gonna wait for the trade. Though, if I see a copy of #1 this weekend, maybe I'll change my mind and pull the trigger?
So Pop Culture Hustle is the winner. I'm going to try to get the first issue out tomorrow. Here's the link to sign up for those who are interested! Pop Culture Hustle | Revue
Finished book 1 of Reborn. Really happy Millar actually ended a book with a truly positive ending for a change. lol
Did a flea market at my comic shop today to get rid of a ton of stuff I don't care about, make some more shelf room for other things, and also make a little nerd spending money in the process. It cost only $10 to get a table. If you add up that with things I bought from other vendors, and then subtract that total from how much I made selling, it was basically a wash. (The third day of a flea-market-y con in Pittsburgh was today, which likely affected attendance a bit.) But, then the guy at the shop bought everything else off of me for $150 of store credit, so that was sweet. Much of what I got rid of were cheap impulse buys that weren't anything special, but I did get rid of Civil War, the first 4 volumes of Walking Dead, and the first 2 of Snyder's Batman, lol. What's also funny is that, while deciding I mostly didn't want Snyder's Batman, I did buy the Superheavy hardcover for $10. Who needs traditional Batman when you can have Bat-bunny!?
Batman is pretty cool. I mean, I've bought 2 Batman HCs in the past 2 days. Would someone who didn't like Batman do that? (I mean, yeah, sure, both Batman stories were set when he was kinda dead-ish, and I also got rid of like 5 Batman trades starring Bruce today, but hey, that's besides the point.)
