You're in for lots of good reading! I can recommend more Spider-stuff, but I think you have enough to keep you busy for now, lol.
Everything that Jason and I covered in the Spidey pod! It was a lot of Miles haha. Did you also grab the 12 issue Bendis run? I think it's Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man.
I have not got those yet. Kinda went overboard this morning lol. 14 trades for $40 so I guess I can't complain too much.
Hah okay. I think the 28 issue run was a bit better but I won't say too much in case you want to listen to the podcast once you read them.
I have MU, but I still do buy stuff I love from Marvel to make sure that the creators get some royalty money. I don't know how MU works, but I can't imagine it provides a lot of income for creators.
Too many subs and i haven't used that app in a while but it was pretty rough when I used it last time Also i just don't read much marvel
I bought the Alias trades and that's it. I read everything else on MU or buy a single issue when I review a new Marvel title. It's very hard for me to want to buy Marvel stuff when a year sub is only $69.
All Miles runs kinda play off and continue each other but I definitely think I liked the Ultimate Comics one the best. Plus Pichelli's art was great
I'm honestly baffled at how many people like Quietly's artwork, haha. It hurts so much of Grant Morrison's work for me.
He's one of those people where I'm instantly much less excited about a book if he's done the artwork. Which is mainly a lot of Morrison stuff I've put off reading.
Fuck. Now I feel like I should do a top ten. In no order: Phil Noto Raphael Albuquerque Dustin Nguyen Alex Ross The Dodsons The Allred's Jae Lee Tim Sale Frank Quitely Leslie Hung I could probably name a ton more, but those were the first ones to pop in my head.
Quietly and JH Williams are probably my favorite artists of all time. And a few years ago CBR did a poll of the 50 greatest artists of all time. Quietly was #2. Kirby was 1 Kirby's DC work is sooo good. Edit: my phone never learned to not autocorrect Quitely's name haha
I love Noto. I own his art book. Funnily enough, I'm not wild about him as a storyteller. But his pencil work and coloring is beautiful.
Sean Murphy Greg Capullo Jerome Opena Matteo Scalera David Marquez Chris Bachalo Esad Ribic Sara Pichelli Jim Lee Scottie Young Probably missing some but those are who I thought of first.
That's the thing about Quitely. He is one of the premier storytellers. That issue of Multiversity is a masterpiece.
I just finished Multiversity and I'm thinking it's going to go down as a favorite, I absolutely adored it, and that issue was a large part of that, basically the turning point where I was all in on the story.
I'm still learning a lot of artists names but here's something off the top of my head in no order (except that the first ones are the ones already mentioned). Frank Quietly Greg Capullo Jim Lee Ivan Reis Dustin Nguyen JH Williams Becky Cloonan Steve Dillon Jon-Davis Hunt Edit: +Jacen Burrows & Jock
Darwyn Cooke Tim Sale Mike Allred Emma Rios Jaime Hernandez Sara Pichelli Mike Del Mundo Cliff Chiang Chris Bachalo Francesco Francavilla ...are probably the closest to a top 10 artists I can come up with right now.
Dustin Nguyen Gabriel Rodriguez Skottie Young Amanda Conner Nicola Scott Jim Lee Mike Henderson Greg Capullo Lee Bermejo Tradd Moore Joe Prado/Ivan Reis
I'm sure you have but did you read his Batman & Robin run? His art is the only thing that makes Morrison worthwhile for me.
