  1. Batman 'Dark City' was a lot of fun. I liked the move toward a human Bruce Wayne, they did great job giving him a full arc. Really nice color work, it felt like a more alive world. Really good Riddler stuff.

    'Graveyard Shift' time.

@Tim I've been waiting on a friend returning my WW books so that I could breeze through them again before the write up. Gonna try and get them back this weekend. Wasn't trying to ignore you, just haven't had the books. If you want to throw up the list, I can add my blurb when I get to it. Hopefully Sunday.

Read Supergirl Rebirth. I want to say I loved it, but there were some bits in there that really threw me off. I liked the fact that they kept Cyborg Superman as her father. I wasn't too keen on them reverting her back to a high schooler. I was a huge fan of the New 52 run, so this felt a bit off. Definitely going to keep up with it.

Can you at least write something up, even if it's short and vague? And then, if you want, you can update/expand it later?

I plan on doing the same thing as last time, where I post early Friday morning and tag you so you can add it to the main post, and then letting @Jason Tate know when it's ready so he can post on the front page at some point during the day. With the traffic we'll have during the weekend, I'd ideally like to have at least something there. Unless we move it to Monday, but I remember Jason saying that Friday got more traffic because it was up all weekend, so that'd still be my preference.

Wish the writer were someone I knew anything about, but Kris Anka illustrating Runaways is automatically fantastic.

The Last Days of Magic arc in Aaron's Doctor Strange is soooo good. I love the villain.

Rowell is largely known for her novel Eleanor & Park. I haven't read it, but I know a lot of people like it.

Double post, woo! I picked up Vol 1 & 2 of New 52 Justice League at the library today. Jim Lee's art looks like it'll be a highlight. Been getting back into some comics reading this week. Read what MU has of All-New Wolverine and the first Unbeatable Squirrel Girl run, plus I started the second one last night.

I have some more comics episodes coming up for Geekdom, so I'll continue to update the doc as those go up.

There's one arc in Aaron's run before it (The Way of the Weird) and that's absolutely worth reading too, Last Days builds on that and makes it even better. I was rec'd it in here as a good place to start and I agree. I've only read The Oath and Season One from Doctor Strange and I was fine, they do a good job catching you up.

The first story in the WW annual is great. It would be awesome to see Rucka write a trinity story someday.

Harbinger Wars was a little messy to read (lots of story overlap between the mini/two series) but it was a great crossover. Been really, really enjoying my time with Valiant so far.

Finished Nailbiter last night. Some great stuff. Ending was... pretty good? One mystery was kind of whatever, the other one is intriguing but I don't think the previous volumes (or even volume 6) did any sort of foreshadowing so it felt kind of random.

Writing was cringy and some artwork felt bland (a lot of blank faces) but all in all it was a great start to getting into graphic novels.

Next up probably The Vision and The Omega Men: The End is Here. Was looking into Omega Men today and that seems real interesting.

I was super disappointed in Omega Men based on how many great things I had heard about it and how incredible Vision was.

@Henry, when you get the chance, edit the WW recs into that thread's first post like last time. You'll see that I just used your joke 1-sentence description from the other day as a placeholder, lol; you can update it as you see fit. @scottlechowicz, I went ahead and just used your slightly longer version, before you tried to trim it down.

@Tim @Jason Tate care to throw me some Spider-Man recs while this sale is going on? Never read any Miles stuff and want to know where to start there. Maybe some good Peter stories too. I haven't read much Spiderman since the first Civil War arc/most of my Spidey reading was from late 90s/early 00s.

The first run for Miles was called Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man (2011) and lasted I think 28 issues?

During this, there was a miniseries called Spider-Men where 616 Peter went to the 1610 universe and met Miles. This is one of my favorite Spider-stories ever and accessible if you've read nothing else with Miles, but if you plan on reading all his stuff anyways, start with the above so you can get his origin.

Then, there was a big event called Cataclysm, which I haven't read yet, but it's by Bendis and I think has Miles in a prominent role, so it's worth looking into.

After this, Miles' book relaunched as Miles Morales: The Ultimate Spider-Man, which lasted 12 issues.

Then, when the 1610 universe was destroyed in Secret Wars, Miles was brought into the 616 universe w/ his supporting cast (and a character death retcon). That is the current series, simply called Spider-Man (2016).
