Probably. There's definitely parts I think would work really well. (So far I'm surprised how little the rest of the DC world gets mentioned.)
Yeah I'd love to see his entire run in either a film or animated feature/TV series. I know that the Owls have showed up in an animated movie but I want like a straight adaptation
The Red Hood stuff would be excellent movie material. Don't expect much from the DC world to come up. Maybe a couple of cameos altogether in the whole run.
Just started 'Dark City' -- I think these are my collective favorite Batman books in years. Not much at all to complain about. Just great top to bottom.
New issue of Saga only 25 cents thank u Bob Kirkman Also didn't realize Saga was back already so I'm a happy camper this morning. got the new Sex Crimz too!
Keeping up with Secret Empire without buying the issues is so easy, lol. With each issue ending on some kinda reveal, there's a guarantee that I'll be able to read a summary article the morning of each issue's release. Anyways, I bring Secret Empire up not because of this issue's reveal ( Punisher working with Hydra makes perfect sense to me, since he's not that far removed from your standard white domestic terrorist). No, I bring it up because freakin' BOOMERANG of all people has a somewhat prominent role. Fred, the d-list Spidey villain, was in a big Marvel event, running the streets while other characters are caught up in story stuff, and giving Black Widow useful info. It's the little joys in life.
i was so disappointed that it was an origin story that i waited and read Zero Year in trade when Rebirth started cause I was desperate more Snyder and Capullo. At the time I definitely wanted more present day so I know where you're coming from. We all make mistakes lol. I will refrain from speaking too much on The Leftovers because it's my favorite television show and I would derail the fuck out of this thread. I don't want it to be over. I will probably be a wreck on Sunday night.
NCBD!!!! It is a dreaded five week month, which means annuals! (and not much else) Let's look at the modest haul: NEW THIS WEEK Wonder Woman Annual 1 Saga 43 PREVIOUSLY RELEASED, BUT RECENTLY REDUCED Eternal Empire 1
Is Endgame where all the mythological Joker ideas are? I really don't care about Joker most of the time, but I do think that's an interesting angle. That and the 3 Jokers angle in Rebirth make the character interesting to me again 'cause he stops being a character and instead becomes a never-ending, vaguely-defined idea that can never have a true origin.
might wanna spoiler tag that but yeah, endgame does get into mythological Joker. The 3 Jokers was Geoff Johns doing at the end of his Justice League run. I'm with you on him being more of an idea than a character.
Grabbed a big pile of Valiant trades from a friend since I've always been meaning to get into it and I've been really enjoying them. So far I've gone through the first two Manowar volumes and the first of Harbinger and I'm hooked on both.
Guys I'm gonna buy my first floppy in almost 2 years in a few weeks, super excited eventhough I doubt many other people will be buying it haha!
My main complaint with Snyder's Batman books are his overuse of exposition and how often he finds some random metaphor that thematically contextualizes his plots. They're fun books, don't get me wrong, but I wish his storytelling was a little more nuanced structurally.
All books should, definitely! I just don't enjoy how in your face they are and how he chooses one character to lay it all out in one scene. Then again, I guess I shouldn't be looking for subtly in a Batman book. It's a literary approach and I appreciate it, I just wish he wasn't so showy with it every single time.
Oh wow, the last page of the Trinity Annual is awesome, can't wait to see how that plays out. Kill Or Be Killed was at its best. Also in the afterword Brubaker confirms that the Joe Hill character was totally a cameo. Really promising start to the new Saga arc. I'm as excited as I've been from the beginning.
