    and so it begins.

finally made my first graphic novel purchase and went with... all six volumes of Nailbiter (thanks to the last handful of posts in this thread and Amazon page previews).

was originally thinking something like The New 52 of Batman, or maybe the Vision volumes, and while i'll get to those eventually, nothing really jumped out at me to kickstart this new area of reading. Until I saw this Nailbiter thing mentioned. a quick perusal on amazon and it was an immediate yes and i found what i was looking for. very excited.

I can't recommend New 52 Batman and Vision enough.

Right now my plan is to get Vision next once I'm done / near finished with Nailbiter. Then Batman New 52. I really want to try and not pile up a bunch of unread stuff (failing miserably to do that with books).

Sounds like a good plan to me. Vision you could finish in one or two sittings. Plus those three books are all pretty different so you get a nice variety.

You won't be let down by any of it. Art and writing is top notch and the story and concept are great and something new and different and fresh.

Let us know what you think!

Nice. I have all these in single issues, but I am glad it is being collected finally.

That original Rucka Batwoman run in Detective was so awesome.

I had to read it digitally when I was gobbling up everything Batwoman related I could find. Looking forward to owning it.

Could've sworn it was previously collected but I can understand why it wasn't

Re-purchasing material I have to get some that I don't is always a bummer, but it's also sweet that a previously uncollected story will now be in a trade.

I've read none of N52 Batwoman in spite of owning the first 3 trades (have only read Elegy), so I might wait 'til I get that, and then just start again at the beginning. What's the last good N52 trade before the notoriously bad, controversial creative team change?

Volume 4, This Blood is Thick, is the last great one and works as a good finale to what started in Elegy.

I liked everything up to Webs. It made no damn sense to make the jump they did.

Hey everyone, if you're contributing to the Wonder Woman "Further Reading" post, please get me your blurbs by Monday, May 29th (a week from today)!

@scottlechowicz got me his already, which is funny 'cause he totally went overboard with his (which I allowed 'cause letting people get passionate about comic book stuff is the best). That means I still need @Deanna, @Henry, @Dodge725, and @Vivatoto to send me theirs.

We'll probably pick the Spider-Man: Homecoming assignments next week.

Tim Seeley is taking over Hellblazer for DC, which he says is going to go full on horror. Can't wait. That book needs an influx of talent.

Jesus Merino is on art. I like his superhero work, but I will be curious to see what he does with a horror book.

If I get the Spidey podcast I did with Jason edited relatively early today, I'll be starting my reading this afternoon!

Oh yeah, those. I'll try and do it tonight. Definitely need to re-read. I love all of that run, so I might just do a synopsis of it as a whole.

Also, it might be good if we post them as they are written? I like the idea of doing o it a week out, but throwing them out there as they are completed might be less overwhelming for people. It's also super easy to edit the first post of the thread.

I'm open to tweaking how they go up, but I don't think a slow trickle is a good idea. More likely to get lost in the shuffle, I think. Blurbs are usually (*cough* @scottlechowicz *cough*) only a paragraph each, and we've thus far only had 5 per film. I don't think that's too intimidating.

I have been wondering if we should change when they go up so as to avoid being buried by initial film release talk, while also still capitalizing on the film release hype train. Maybe we could post the recs either during the day Thursday, or on the following Monday? I'm leaning towards Monday. The Logan one was posted in the thread on Friday but didn't go up on the front page until Monday, and I think it got more of a response than the GOTG one, which was put up on Friday. @Jason Tate, you have any input on this?

I know that some of you have mentioned getting around to some of the WTG comic book episodes once you read through them. So I'm just curious, would it be beneficial if I made a google doc to post here that links to all comics related episodes?
