Started re reading the batman new 52 run as well. It was the only dc comic i had ever read but stopped right after death of the family.
Awesome, thank you. I think I want to start reading comics with The New 52. Looking into it it sounds pretty neat with the "ending" of everything and 52 alternate worlds (hope I get that right). However I didn't know that The New 52 was in place for all DC characters. Holy shit is that cool. Hoping I can figure out all The New 52 DC stuff. Don't want to mix up other storylines with 52 stuff and google searches are only confusing me more right now.
No problem! The New 52 is a good starting point for new readers. It wasn't perfect, but it had some real highs (Batman, Swamp Thing, Animal Man, Wonder Woman chief among them). There really isn't any reason to worry about alternate worlds right now. Much of the New 52 strays away from alternate worlds. And if you are ever feeling a little lost continuity wise, we are happy to help.
The Verge did an awesome post on Black Panther recently. Tour Black Panther's reimagined homeland with Ta-Nehisi Coates
Thank goodness there weren't enough trades out this week for me to order anything. lol Next week should be nice though.
Yeah I didn't like that storyline (though I enjoyed the first). The Timeless arc is very good, I think that's next
Injustice 2 has been good so far and the game is also great, though it does destroy the comics continuity in the very first chapter. The game definitely knows how good of a character Injustice Harley is, but doesn't over do it so it works really well.
Had a wonderful day today. -Leslie Hung is the most bashful/adorable woman I've ever met. I just wanted to hug her to death. -Amy Chu is so great. Talked to her about Red Sonja and finishing what she started with Poison Ivy. She said she has a story written, but the place the character is at right now doesn't allow them to use her the way she wants. -I didn't get tickets to meet Bryan Lee O'Malley because I got there a little late. Thankfully, I found him sitting at Leslie's booth before he went to the main signing area. I waited until he was finished eating and pounced on him. lol. He was incredibly nice about it and gave me a little doodle. -Andrew MacLean drew up a killer Mononoke sketch for me -Annie Wu was all booked up on commissions, so I wasn't able to get one. -Mike Henderson had some really amazing watercolors. I wanted to buy them all, but at $60 a pop, that wasn't practical. lol. He is going to be announcing a Marvel book he is working on soon. The exchange was kinda funny. "I needed a change of pace." "Getting away from all of the death and murder?" "Not exactly. Still gonna be a lot of death, just not like that. But for now, its a secret." Said it should be announced in a week or two. HMMMMMM...
Plan on reading through the entire Nailbiter run over the next couple of weeks. How's the ending? Anti-climactic? I know @dadbolt @Vivatoto have read it, maybe @ChiliTacos @Henry too?
I'm probably 2/3 of the way through it, it's been awhile. Will probably be finishing it when I place my next IST order. What I've read is so good thoigh!
No sir, it is fucking awesome. I have one minor complaint about the ending, we'll talk about it when you've read it. It's absolutely satisfying though. You shall love.
I've always had a stack to work on but it's getting worse. Just haven't had time to sit down and read anything.
End of Nailbiter was exactly what it should have been. The climax is a little weird since everything all seems to happen at the same time. I loved the last issue though.
Now I'm real excited! Wanted to re-read Vol 1-5 just in case I forgot stuff and it'd be fresh going into the finale
